Sat 119=Echostar7 on Port 1. Sat 110=Echostar 6,8 on Port 2
6.Apt-Get ViewSat-All-In-1.zip(Find this in the ViewSat Files Section)
7.A little bit of Think for yourself skill.(Most important)

1.Find your Null Modem cable, and connect it to your Viewsat, and the Com1 Port on your computer.(May require Reboot)
* Leave the ViewSat Unplugged.
2.Unzip Apt-Get's ViewSat-All-In-1.zip and save the files to your computer
*(ie. My Documents/Viewsat)
3.Open the program "Loader2"
4.Click "Open Files"
5.Go to the directory where you saved the files and elect "ViewsatUSA_V69.PGM"
*(This file name will Change with new versions. Just make sure its the .PGM file)
6.Repeat these steps for the files "APT-GET.CHA", and "satinfo.sat".
7.You will notice that you have the 3 files populated in the Loader2 program.
8.Click Pc->STB then Plug In your Viewsat power.
(You should see the Files loading properly)
9.Once it is completed, The program will say its done. Now wait for the Viewsat to say "End" on the front display.
10.Power off your Viewsat.
11.Hit the "clear" button in the loader2 program, and it will remove the files from the list.
12.Click open files, and load the file "opkey.hex"
13.Click Pc->STB and plug in your Viewsat. (File should load to the box)
14.Once the ViewSat display says "End" Power it off.
15.Connect your ViewSat to your TV, and Enjoy.
16.Read Your User Manual.
** If you still get no picture, Check your port settings for the switch, and make sure your using the current version of the files.
***Once you have done this, you will only need to load a new .PGM and .hex Fiile The next time the Keys change, or there is a Firmware Update.

where is this file, Apt-Get ViewSat-All-In-1.zip, i looked in files section, omly think i can find for viersat is 1 thread, only downloads are loader, readme and several v files from v 59 to v 69, please point in the right directon, thanks

The instruction was C/P from other site. You will not file the Apt-Get ViewSat-All-In-1.zip here. This file is put together by Apt. it contian the Viewsat loader, and bin file, and STB CH edit.
You can get the loader and the bin file in the file forums. |

I am trying to unzip the Cool.sat 4000 file from the Winzip program, and when I click to open, it would ask "Open with which program"
What program do I use to open the zipped file ?

looks like you need to find an evualation version of winzip do a google search for win zip / shareware , or it mite even be a file here  |

Hey Skunker, I have the right software.
When I double click on the file, it opens, but in computer language.
There is nothing I can do to be able to program my cool.sat 4000
When you unzip the cool.sat 4000 file for the n2, what does the screen show ?

unzip with win zip ---> save to ( where ever it makes you happy) 
should be a stb file
down load coolsat pro loader
when you open coolsat pro loader it should have the directory where you saved your file to , hook up your cable and then you can flash

what your doing is trying to look at the encrypted bin , cant do it (well you can but it looks like the above)
you need the pro loader the file is here in the fta section and then use that to load it
looks like we got off to a bad start looked at post 1 of this thread , you should of started a new one bro ! |

Hi Skunker.
When I purchased my Cool.sat, there was an additional box with a plastic card encoded on one side, and with it was a reader.
Why do I have these, and what use are they for ?
I know I have to open the box and install it. But is this for some future use ?
