PLEASE REVIEW THEM This post contains important information you NEED to know to use these forums... Golden Rule: Members are required to maintain a standard of conduct in their posting that follows established guidelines of good taste and respect. Members that make a habit of posting inflammatory, disrespectful, or nonsensical posts are subject to having their posting privileges or membership revoked. This is an established, technical community. Members should keep that in mind before making any posts here. 1. If you are here to ask questions you MUST post them clearly and concisely describing what hardware, software etc you are using as well as what steps you took. 2. Files are ALLOWED to be posted in the Member's File Uploads forums, the FAQ & HOW-TO forums, the Rants/Jokes forums, and the Buy & Sell Forums. Only registered members may upload or download files. Scan your files for viruses before uploading or you WILL BE permanently banned. ZIP your file to save bandwidth and include all original documentation. Uploading renamed files, pornography or advertisements of any kind will likely get you a Reputation loss or worse. Uploads are limited to 3.0mb to conserve bandwidth. Keep in mind, files are uploaded by members, are not screened in any way, and may even be illegal to evaluate in your area. Do not upload or provide links to warez or other illegal files here. This is not the type of attention we want or need. We are also in absolutely no way responsible or accountable for how the files are used. It goes without saying that abusing this area in any way will get you immediately removed as a member here. 3. DO NOT flame newbies, unless they blatantly violate the rules. This site is full of new users because it is the #1 place new users search for dss and other interesting info. Lets keep it that way. Treat others as you expect to be treated yourself. Remember: at one point we were all newbies. 4. DO NOT come here to advertise unless you support this board financially in some way. This means DO NOT post URL's unless they are links to other message boards or are obviously not advertisement efforts. Information is the key. This forum is for learning and communicating with other users - NOT promoting lame websites. Linking to other forum threads is OK. Linking to files or ads is NOT. Making a username as a domain name is also NOT acceptable. 5. Keep posts in their proper forum or they will be deleted. This is self explanatory. Concise thread titles in the proper forum helps the search feature, and just makes this place a whole lot easier to use. 6. While we respect the right to free speech here, we will not tolerate posts with racial remarks or slurs. This includes comments vilifying or defaming racial, ethnic, or cultural groups. Be respectful. 7. Spamming or cross-posting to multiple forums will easily get you less Reputation from users or worse - banned by a moderator. 8. NO REPUTATION WARRING! Think twice about removing Reputation points from other members. Be sure they deserved to have some hard earned reputation removed from them for their infringement. Remember: If you remove Rep from someone, your victim can reveal to the group what you have done, thus possibly making you yourself a target. Also keep in mind that abusing the system will quickly get you in trouble with an admin - a situation you want to avoid. 9. DO NOT ask 'How do I get into the VIP Area?'. DUPE ACCOUNTS are not tolerated here, especially when they are used in conjunction with reputation padding. Registering multiple accounts *will be detected* and you will likely lose all registration privileges. This is done in an effort to keep this place troll/mole free. | Why can't I post/download attachments? |
| Membership here is free and entitles you to many benefits including the ability to post and download attachments. Once registered you may also begin accumulating Reputation points for a shot at gaining entrance to the VIP forums. To view threads on this board you do NOT need to sign up. You may read threads, search, but NOT reply, post new threads, or download attachments. When you sign up to this board you are granted access to post and download. NOW THE IMPORTANT PART! When you register you will be sent out an email that contains a link that MUST be clicked to complete your registration. The forum ALWAYS sends these emails out so if you did not recieve one it more than likely is in your junk email folder OR your spam filter killed it. Most spam filters are set by default to filter out mail with the word DSS or satellite in it. If you want to be re-mailed your authorization link you can do so by clicking register. This forum uses cookies.
