The Pansat Receivers forums list - please.

I thought maybe the list of receiver----- NOT to Buy----- thats the list I will be adding it to-----cause it doesn't allow for 8PSK add on modules---so---it's HD capabilities can't be discussed in this site due to rule #6----Get It???.

Cheers

What you said doesn't make sense...why is the 9000 HD in this location then ?
Nothing has changed as far as an 8psk mod. for the 9000 either. I am merely recommending that the Pansat 9200 HD have it's own section.

Why????
It is only capable of receiving HD from the provider we don't discuss here---Rule #6------so why would we dedicate a complete section to it, when the HD aspects of it can't be discussed here????

All you are doing is encouraging people to break rule # 6 of this site if they try and discuss the HD capabilities of the Pansat.

I see other HD receivers that are in the same boat as the 9200, and we know it is capable of other things. What about OTA HD - free and legal. What about it's planned PVR features....so why exclude the 9200 from a forum here. In that case they should have a rule to exclude HD receivers.

The fact is 9200 HD do support 8psk add-on module to get the same result as SV-8000HD.
9000HD is NOT.

It supports 8PSK module.
Just check this: hXXp://www.pansat8psk.com/
I believe this receiver deserves to have it's own forum.
It support MPEG4 which makes it very favorable (SV8K doesn't support MPEG4) and more HD channels will be moved to MPEG4.

yes it does do Mpeg-4 with adapter , SO it should get its own section but thats up the the admin & mods , also the Sv 8000 & VS 9000 do Mpeg4 also !

MPEG4 is a compression method and has nothing to do with adapters.
Therefore Pansat 9200HD supports it right away with no additional modules.
I am not sure about SonicView 8000HD, as I remember it doesn't have MPEG4 support in it specification at least.

I don't know what 8PSK module you have. I heard that it has it's own module, not the module for SV8000, but I'm not sure.
Check the link I posted, they have some installation info.

What is the difference between the Pansat 9000 and the 9200 and the Sonic View 8000? Both the 9000 and the 9200 can support the MPEG 4. Just need some information.

After reading in the forum, it appears that after adding the 8psk module to the 9200HD, one should be able to get the DN HD channels, Right? I'm an old 2500A and 6000HXC user and have been sitting back and waiting for the HD units to mature. I have a full blown DN HD subscription, $140+ per month, But wouldn't mind getting to see the HD movies on PPV every now and then and possibly someone's HD locals since my area's locals on DN are still SD. I have three DN DVRs ganged on a 1000.2 dish and the 6000HXC currently set up on a dedicated Dish 1000. I'd probabaly upgrade the dish to another 1000.2 if the 9200HD is going to do the trick. Oh, and yes! I think this unit should have it's own thread.

Before the current black out was anyone having good luck with DN in HD on the 9200HD with the 8psk module?

A certain website is selling the 9200hd receiver advertised as "hd ready"---it is beiing sold for 629.00 us----the site is FreeToaxrdixx.cxx---my question is this---I know FTA units are legal to buy that have not been flashed---but this unit obviously is set up to receive HD signals out of the box----so is the dealer breaking the law selling this unit and would a consumer be guilty and presumed to be breaking the law by buying one of these HD ready units-----and could Dish respond to you like Dave did by sending you a demand letter.

I picked up my Pansat 9200HD for 399.99 , and it said it was HD ready , you still need to by the piggy back board , to go from ready to operational .

Could be the term "HD Ready" was just thought to mean "With HD". Check to make sure the board is included. From what I understand,Ya gotta have the board installed to tune in DN HD channels.
