Ive been doing FTA for awile now so I understand most of the basics.
I had Been testing a coolsat 6000 with no problems getting 110 and 119.
This week I upgraded to the PVR 7000. I had no problems with loading the newest bin and setting the coolsat 7000 up for my particular installation. My problem is this im missing a handfull of channels. Ive tried scanning auto, blind manual, all with the same results. Here is the even stranger part, I purchased 3 7000PVR's (all installed at different locations) they all are missing the same few channels. I loaded them all with the 113 version of the coolsat 7000 bin. I assume of course that its user error on my part and that a setting needs to be adjusted prior to scanning the channels, so that those particular channels/transponders are picked up, I just am not certain what to adjust. Also my old Coolsat works fine and tunes all channels fine, so I know 100% it isnt the dish/pointing/lnb's/switch/ect.

Thank you for any help, if the missing channel numbers or more info on my exact setup is needed i would be happy to post it.

My suggestion if you haven't already done it is to go to xxx.lyngsat.com and go through the list of transponders and see if some thing doesn't jive with your machine.

Ive checked a few of the missing channels transponder settings and verified that my coolsat is scanning that transponder, however I get nothing. I've tried removing that transponder and re adding it with no luck. when I goto that freq, in ant setup or channel scan I get 0% signal lev.. I know the signal is there, i can scan with another reciever and it pick them up fine. Ive read that some older versions of the 7000 software had some scanning bugs (version 109 if im not mistaken) is there a chance im being affected by something simular? I mean its odd that 3 different 7000's all in different locations/dish's/switch's all would miss the exact same channels during a scan. Ive changed every scan setting i can think of and still it just doesnt pick them up. I assume it has to be a problem with the software/settings.

Ive considered loading the 108 version trying a scan, then re-loading the 113 version to test the theory that its a problem with the 113 bin file. any other suggestions?

I'm having a similar problem with mine;

I'm using a 4/1 Eagleswitch (I think, it's a standard Disqwhatever LNB switchbox) and have two dishes setup, 91 and 119.

I'm missing all the channels between 1101 and 1124 (I know they exist, I pick them up on a subbed 5900 with the same dish) and then some more between 1131 and 1199.

All the BEV PPVs are scrambled which doesn't matter much as I rent all the movies I watch on DVD, I'm also missing Rai International (1701), this to me is more important than the PPVs.

It's similar for the 119 bird, I have a handful (maybe 20 or so) missing channels.

Also the guide is weird, it will not show the programming more than two hours in the future which kinda sucks for programming the PVR to record.

Any Ideas? My signal is nice and strong (85+ on both) and besides, the 301 picks up the channels and so does my 5900.

I tried without the switchbox (first one than the other) and still same thing so it's not the switchbox.

:(

Yea sounds like the exact same problem. Ive still had no luck resolving it, are still missing the channels.

Its not the switch/dish ive tested this, the problem has to be in the 7000's setup/software. I hope to feel real silly when it turns out to be a simple setting.. lol For now ill just have to wait till a few more folks have the same problem.

I have resolved the problem, and am posting this for anyone else still dealing with it.

The problem in a nutshell is caused by incorrect LNB type selection. For me when I selected my LNB type (Single) I was getting no signal, however when i selected some of the other types I got good signal, so i assumed that was the correct setting.. Big mistake lol

1. Load the factory bin file
2. reboot, Load the newest 7000 bin
3. pick YOUR LNB TYPE (if you get no quality dont worry)
4. change freq , untill you get signal (usally its 11250, or 11150 for most lnbs)
5. In options turn off auto CH/TP update
6. Turn OFF network search
7. delete all old channels and auto scan all sats.

This worked for me, all missing channels were found.
The important thing here is even if your getting good signal make sure you LNB type selection matches YOUR actual hardware or a few channels slip threw the cracks.. Cheers.
