I am considering a Conaxsat Duo, just woundering how well they are performing with the frequent key changes?

Currently using Atmega with public #'s:(

Any feedback would be appreciated, thanks.

You won't go wrong with the duo..I have a couple of CNX Trio's and am very happy with them..fantastic picture..very nice 7 day EPG and a cool theme search. The support group has been A+, first group to fix the last AutoRoll problem.:yes:

I agree with Woofy that the Conaxsat is a nice receiver.Just bought the duo myself. Very easy to set-up. scanned 3 sats in about 4 minutes. All channels perfect. Menu is simple but easy to follow. Remote is laid out nice and the color is great. I don't think you would be disappointed with this receiver.

I have not heard of anyone having problems with any type of hard drive with CNX,,so really up to yourself.

I prefer to use the 2.5 usb laptop hardrives this way there is no need for an external power supply like the 3.5 drives. simply plug in the 2.5 into the USB port on the CNX and powers it. I use a seagate 160gig on one where i do my main recording and another 40gig no name i use on the other...both work fine.:D

In March of this year, I thought about getting a Duo, but I got a Trio instead. Now that I have found out what can be done with the divx port, I have not regretted it. El

yes, it is a good stb.
i have CNX Trio,Duo and Mini for all my rooms.
i tried lotta HDD and memory sticks for all those units. everything workig great. but only thing that i DO NOT recommend is WD portable HDD.
i have 120G & 160G. those are not really compatable with CNX product.
but WD 250G and 500G my book HDDs are fine though..
so if you are thinking to get 2.5 portable HDD, DO NOT get Western Digital.

Can you explain this WD issue further? As far as the box is concerned, data is transferred over USB 2.0. Does WD not follow the USB standard?

What WD issue? I am using a WD and I have not had any problems with it.

Using with Duo

HDD Manuf -->>> Seagate

HDD Model -->>> Free Agent Desktop 500 PN/9NK2AL-500

HDD Speed (RPM's) -->>> 7200

HDD Size (GB's) -->>> 500GB

Hard drive goes to sleep after awhile and will not wake up when trying to record from reserve, real bummer might have to get a different brand of hd.

If you have that template, then you are probably aware that CNX are looking at ways to wake the sleepy drives...to quote ZC..

they( hard drives internally shut down by design.....great feature, other than the CNX machines do not recognize them once they go to sleep..

so don't be to quick..CNX has been great fixing any issues and i am confident they will remedy this one.:)
