I am totally new to FTA I got mine 2 weeks ago and was so excited to get it hooked up and running and ran into a whole load of troubles so I made this cheat sheet I hope it helps someone I know that 95% of the threads on here are answered in this Post I hope it helps someone.

How to setup a Coolsat 7000 Micro PVR

Program your Coolsat 7000 PVR with the USB Stick:

1 - You need to format Memory stick. Using FAT32 to format it, not NTFS, using your computer.
2 - Download unzip and put the resulting file on your USB Stick.
3 - Turn on your unit first then insert the USB stick
4 - Now you will see The Software Upgrade message.
5 - Hit the Red button on the left (has a book on it) of the remote control to load file.

How to setup your dish setting:

1 - Press Menu on the remote control
2 - Installation
3 - Highlight Dish Setting then Hit OK button
4 - Now it'll bring up the satellite list,. Adjust LNB type, Frequency, Diseqc switch... to match with all your hardware.

For Dish Pro Dish 500

Echo 7
Frequency 12239
LNB Type OCS-DP
LNB Freq 11250
Disqc 1.0 1

Echo 8,10
Frequency 12224
LNB Type OCS-DP
LNB Freq 11250
Disqc 1.0 2

How to scan the Channels:

Scan Echo 7 first then Echo 8,10 Turn the LNB Power to off on the one not scanning.
There are two ways to do it:
1 - while you are at Dish Setting, highlight Channel Search then press OK.
2 hit OK on Search Mode. Pick which one you want to use==> Auto, Manual, Blind, Adv
(Recommended is Auto Search)
3 Turn LNB Power to OFF for Echo 7 go to Echo 8,10 Turn LNB Power to ON and Search.
4. Go back to Echo 7 and turn LNB Power to ON

A Second Scan Method

1 - Highlight Start Search then Press OK. Beginning to scan...
2 - Menu ==> Installation ==> Channel Search. Scan Echo 7 then Echo 8,10.

After scanning when your are on a channel press the SAT button and make sure All Channels is picked.

How to Renumbering your Local Channels:

1 - Menu ==> Installation
2 - Highlight Option then hit OK on the remote
3 - Hit Ok on Renumbering Local CH
4 - Pick your State hit the volume up key and pick your City and press ok.
5. -Press Exit and Yes to Save

How to Edit Channels:

1. - Menu ==> Channel List ==> Channel List Manager
2. - Select Delete Channels
3. - Sort list with Red Button to A-Z
4. - Go to Free channels and select them to go to box on right.
5. - Delete with Green Button
6. - Your channels will re appear unless you go to menu / options/ and turn Auto CH/TP updtae to off and exit and save

How to Download EPG:

1. - Press EPG Button
2. - Press the Blue Button

Just copy the bin to the root of the usb thumb drive and then plug it into the receiver while it's on. The rest is straight forward, you'll see.

I have a coolsat 7000
My settings are
lnb :Single
Freq 11250
Everything else is off. I only have one lnb.

I'm trying to get 110 bird, But can only get signal on 12574 almost 100% strength. The others TP get 0% signal. Whats going on?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Go to the Homepage then go to Coolsat Files under the FTA Files section on the left. Scroll down until you see Coolsat7000_NORW_V0116_20070918.zip and follow the link. At the time of this post, 116 is the latest bin for the cs7000.

Alright so i just moved over to the coolsat 7000 pvr from the Pansat 2500. I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction to set it up from BEV? I've tried for the past few hours but just can't seem to get it going.

Could someone specify how to get international channels on cs7000, I get everything else.
Is this because of my dish positioning that I can't get international channels. What transponders I need to scan for and how to tell coolsat to scan for international frequency and transponders. I have dish 500+, dp34 with cs7000.
I did blind scan, auto and also mannual but still couldn't get to the international freq. I get everything else. I could see 118.8 anik f3 but I don't see a single international channels. If dish needs to realigned which way should I point? I could see good signal 119, 118.8 direct tv and 118.8 dishnet, and 110. And when scanning each sat Iam getting multiple entries for each channel. Thanks for your help. I read almost all the posting for international but none of them discussed my issue of getting everything but international.

-- 7000 has 1 USB port: you can only use either 1 USB stick or 1 external hard drive at a time.
-- 7100 comes with a 1 Gigabytes USB stick records 2 hours movie
-- 7000 comes with a 64 megabytes USB stick records 10 minutes teaser
-- 7100 and 7000 has equal ku band performances
-- 7100 just a bit better C band performance than 7000 on the weak signals
-- 7100 & 7000 has same remote control, same motor control, same PVR functions, same SD resolution display, same pictures quality.
-- 7100 is a newer replacement model of the 7000 even though 7000 was just released in July 2007. Both unit price is just about the same so Buy the 7100. :yes:

Used to have Pansat 2500A. Just bought Coolsat 7100.
1. Where do I find and dowload bin-dowloader?
2. where can I find and download latest bin?
3. Bins for 7000 and for 7100 are the same?

Coolsat 7000 after 146 any new file.My unit is not working for last 3 weeks. Any generous providers tks

when i try to set up my 119 deg. it does not match on top, it still reads as 110 deg. thiis is setting up on the display. what i am doing wrong? when i go over to the 110 deg, screen it matches up

my 7000 doesn't pick up the 203 ,is it unzipped ? I loaded it and put it in usb nothing?

Could someone help. I have a coolsat 7000 PVR and I put in the new NORW file and it won`t even come up that the memory stick has a new update which the 217 file is on the memory stick... can someone help I also tried putting an mp3 on the memory stick and still nothing yet the computer picks it up... what can be done about this
