i have put the factory and new ird file on my usb stick, but when I insert it, nothing happens. I thought a menu asking which file I wanted to use woulld show up?

First are files unzip? Before transfering file from computer to usb flash drive then to the receiver. Once flash drive is inserted to receiver and not being recognize unplug and reinsert again till you see a menu instruction.

Try not to tranfer both files at the same time.
