I have program many magnum before, never had this problem. Two of my Magnums will not accept 0000 as the passcode. Anyone has this problem?

1818 then change the pincode to 0000 for future use.

1818 is the master pin and will ALWAYS work. You can set your own personal pin, but you cannot change or disable the master pin.

That's why it is called the Master Code. LOL
Every receiver has one.
Best to know what it is.
Then you will never have any access problems.

Yes, the only problem I ever see with the master pin is they always seem to unlock the locked channels, so if you have a preteen smart enough to look up the master pin on the internet.... :D

They seriously should not give the master pin this capability. Only the personal pin should be able to unlock locked channels and change the personal pin.

In theory it sounds like a good idea,

Until you see all the posts on these forums of people who can't remember their code, and are obviously too stupid to write it down in a safe place.

That's why you set it up so that you could reflash the bin to reset the personal pin.

Great support... thanks guys... you too SetWire... lol

Anyway,
Whenever I read these posts about PIN problems and 0000 not working, I immediately get concerned because the only time 0000 doesn't work is when the box has never been factory defaulted. Surfing through the Main Menu to perform a Factory Default should be the first thing that is done when your new Magnum is removed from it's shiney red and black cardboard box. Before any files are loaded... before any sats are set up... before any scans are done. A factory default will automatically set the password to 0000.

My 2 cents worth... Hope it helps,

Mikesmadd

They neglect to mention that in the manual.
I was lucky to find the info in forums back when I got my magnum.
Think of the people that are just using it for true fta and have no forum savvy.
