I have a 31" Winegard dish, a Stab 90hh motor, a Fortec Star Mercury II receiver and a Invacom Quad LNB. I've been trying for 3 weeks on and off to set up this system.
I am at 39.1950 N and -77.2686 W, which I input in my receiver.
I've been trying to program the receiver and have tried to get signals from ANY satellite, to no avail. Everywhere I turn to read about how to set up a motorized dish, I get a different piece of data every time I look around. That I should compensate for the 30 degrees of the motor, that the true azimuth has to be compensated with 10 degrees compass reading, and a bunch of etceteras that I don't want to use this space to write about. I have looked here trying to find some manual or guide or instructions regarding a system closely related to mine, but it is either is buried somewhere I haven't looked, or it simply doesn't exist.
I must tell you, I don't have a signal detector, nor a digital compass. I only have a regular good o'le magnetic compass, and the indicators on the motor and the dish clamp.
Sorry if this is too simple for some of you that won't even bother to include your comments, but I am too new at this and need HELP NOW.
Thanks.
