After messing with DN for a couple of years I just started testing FTAs and would like to know how good and reliable is this receiver? Does it usually throws the new fixes in good time? I'm asking because I'm thinking to buy one for me and 4 of my friends... Thanks for any answer!

Some people love them and some hete them. I have 2 6000's and the new HD9000 and love all of them. At times the bins come out fast and at other times it takes a day or so longer than other stb's. I have had the first one for over a year and would buy it again if I had to do it over again.

easy to upgrade, sometimes slow updates but usually not bad. Works great with DN put epg doesn't work with the fordidden other provider. I like it.

for the money the neusat is a decent buy like everyone says the fixes sometimes are like a day later than others like VS i think my sp6000 gets a better pic than my VS platinum. Just one thing i dont like the neusat signal meter is always low like 76 is equal to 96 on a VS dont know why but when you get rain out it comes about the same time for both so no big deal does make dish pointing a little difficult though.

Will the new hd box get d*sh hd?
Or do we need additional components...

No the Neusat HD9000 will not get DN at this time. I have been told they are working on an adapter, but have no info about it.

I just got a SP-6000, to tell the truth it does fine, but I like my Viewsat VS 2000 better. The Neusat tends to be a little cryptic in the menus, and I still haven't found the features like the guides deivided for different program types ( family, educational, movies, etc) but I'm still learning it, and as I said the menu isn't real specific.

I did run into a problem setting it up, I loaded the wrong bin on the USB card, the other site I found it on redirected me to an Extreme file or something, and after loading it wouldn't reboot. I found the STB Download 1.9.3-clear program here though and ran it through the serial cable with the proper bin and that took care of the problem.

All in all the Neusat is a decent receiver, but if I had the extra $65 I'd stick with the Viewsat Ultra. The Viewsat also has an easier time finding the bin if your flash drive has more than one file on it. I had to load the SP2024 bin in thr rootdirectory of the flash drive before the Neusat would recognze it. My Viewsat will browse through the entire drive until you find what you need. Again no biggie, the Neusat I think is fine if you have a limited budget. But you do get what you pay for.

I have a sp6000 and a satpros dsr500. The sp6000 is easier to update and I find it to be a fine fta receiver-I really like the usb flash feature:yes:

just my 2 cents have worked with both and say spend a little more and get a viewsat extreme or ultra (ultra give you the usb option now) better rec and alot more user friendly esp for newbies to fta IMHO:)
