View Full Version : can only get one satellite at a time

I just got a Duo. I have a Dish 500 with a dish pro dual LNB. I'm looking at 110 and 119 and have one coax running from the lnb to the receiver, no switch in between. Whenever I do a channel search, the receiver only picks up either the 110 or the 119 programming, not both at the same time.
I've tried changing lnb type to Dish Pro 1 and Dish Pro 2 in a variety of combinations but still no go.
Question: the Duo came with a simple Disecq switch that I didn't use. Should I run two cables from the DP 500 to the switch and then to my receiver, or is there just some setting that I'm getting wrong.

You dont need the switch...are you scanning each sat by itself? Thats what you need to do not the blind scan.

Yeah, I'm scanning each satellite by itself. First the 119, get those channels. Then I scan 110, but all I get are duplicates of the 119 channels. And if I do it the other way around, first 110 and then 119, I get two copies of 110 channels. I've fiddled with it for a couple of hours, trying different orders, but can't seem to get around it.

not sure on the cnx but did you assign 119 to port 1 and 110 to port 2 even if you did not use a switch

Yes, you are correct. The external Diseqc switch is not needed because these lnbs have a built-in switch Use Diseqc port 1 for 119 and Diseqc port 2 for 110.

Hey, does this look same as your setting?

Satellite: 119w
Diseqc: 1
TP frequency: 12239
LNB: DishPro 1
22KHz Tone: off
Multi-dish switch: off

Satellite: 110w
Diseqc: 2
TP frequency: 12224
LNB: DishPro 1
22KHz Tone: off
Multi-dish switch: off

Make sure you have same sat on the bottom of page with the sat you are pointing at.

My Duo won't power on as of today. Tried different outlets, nada. This is my first FTA box. Is this a common problem with these devices? Can I easily fix it myself? I bought it from vnprosat.com not 2 weeks ago, I sent them an email about this, i'll let you know what happens...

No, this is not a common problem. When you try to turn it on, do you see any lights on the unit at all? Also, make sure the switch in the back is not off.

May I suggest you start your own thread in the Dishnet section of this site.
This forum is for Conaxsat Receivers.

You are highjacking this thread with a question on a Dishnet Receiver and Atmega Card.
Not likely to get any replies here.

No, I don't see any lights. Display is blank, the blue power button is dead. Power switch on the back is on. Tried turning it on with the remote and the front power button.
Vnprosat said they'll take it back and replace it, if I can't get it working.
