View Full Version : Coolsat 7000 and channel 905
digimonx 05-23-2007, 07:40 PM I am able to get Armenia TV on my dn receiver (channel number 905). I have 119 on port1, 110 on port2, 118 - port3 and 61.5 on port 4.
I spent hours trying to catch the same channel on my new coolsat 7000 receiver. I am getting all channels on 119, 110, 118 and 61.5 but Armenia TV on channel 905 does not appear in the list. As much as I know it is supposed to be on 119. I use 104 firmware.
Please help!
mlew2 05-23-2007, 08:21 PM I am able to get Armenia TV on my DishNetwork receiver (channel number 905). I have 119 on port1, 110 on port2, 118 - port3 and 61.5 on port 4.

Please help!
channel 905 is on 121W on ku band also on 119 but it is KU
digimonx 05-23-2007, 08:29 PM Thank you for prompt reply, mlew2.
Could you give some more details please. I am not really good in this and do not understand your reply. Do you want to say that I need a different receiver? Or is there a way to catch 905 on coolsat 7000?
Thanks a lot!

It is definately a different LNB you need to get KU I'm not sure about the dish itself, receiver should work
digimonx 05-23-2007, 08:42 PM My dn receiver uses same LNBs. I just unplug the cable from dn receiver and plug it into CoolSat 7000. Why dn receiver can see 905, and CoolSat 7000 can not? Any ideas?
Thanks again!
mlew2 05-23-2007, 08:44 PM My DishNetwork receiver uses same LNBs. I just unplug the cable from DishNework receiver and plug it into CoolSat 7000. Why DishNetwork receiver can see 905, and CoolSat 7000 can not? Any ideas?

maybe FTA isn't for KU I really don't know sorry:no:
digimonx 05-23-2007, 08:49 PM Oh... You were my only and last hope.
The strange thing is that once it actually listed 905 under 119w, but I had to reset to factory defaults and rescan. Since then no luck.
The only reason I bought CoolSat 7000 was to watch 905.
So sad...

someone will come by here and read and will probably offer up more news and ideas for you so don't give up quite yet:no:
dishready 05-24-2007, 06:13 PM I've spent more than an hour today researching 905armtv on both Lyngsat and Charlie's sites. Lyngsat seems out-of-date, but the dn site gives a hint here: hxxp://tech.dishnetwork.com/departmental_content/TechPortal/content/home/techdeposuperint.shtml
--it would seem that those channels(along with some locals) went linear on 121 and now "require" a superdish or d500+ to receive them. If you figure it out, please post back - Im curious as well.
mlew2 05-24-2007, 06:19 PM The cheapest way is to get a linear LNB which is for KU
digimonx 05-24-2007, 07:19 PM Thank you very much for information, dishready.
I believe I have superdish and like I said my dn receiver gets channel 905 just fine, but I am having trouble with 905 on coolsat 7000...
I do not think I need an extra equipment though. There must be a way to fix it with my current setup.
If you find out something new, pleasse reply to this post.
Thanks.
dishready 05-24-2007, 11:14 PM Does your dn receiver show the transponder, polarity, and satellite that 905 is on? If so, write that info down and then check your coolsat menu for that transponder. If it's there, try a manual scan on that particular tp. If that tp is not there, add it and then scan. Performing a blind scan may help get your tp's correct but sometimes results in duplicate channels. Maybe do a blind scan, eraase channels, then do a network (auto) scan. I pointed a 36"w/linear lnb at 121 echo 9 today and blind scanned but did not see armtv. Could it be on 105? I'll try to help more tomorrow.
p.s.--please try to learn more about the dish/lnb's you have and whether there are any switches installed between there and the receiver. While dn receivers are capable of "figuring out" your setup, fta's need to be told. Your solution may be as simple as changing a menu setting but we can't help much if we don't know what hardware you are using. Thanks
digimonx 05-25-2007, 08:03 AM I am not really sure if I have got a linear LNB, but if my dn receiver can get 905, coolsat 7000 must be able to do that as well.
Whenever I select port 1 on coolsat 7000 it shows 119w, port 2 -110w, port 3 - 118w and port 4 - 61.5w. I use OCS-DP for LNB type as it looks like it gives best results.
The same satellites are listed in my dn receiver as follow:
Port1 DP Dual Band 119
Port2 DP Single 110
Port3 DP Dual Band 118
Port4 DP Twin 61.5
At hxxp://www.lyngsat.com/packages/dish119_sid.html channel 905 is listed under 119w tp2. I do not see any info about frequency and polarization though.
At hxxp://ekb.dbstalk.com/dishlist.htm channel 905 is listed also under 118w tp2 (refered as amc16 in one place and a-f3 in another, not sure why).
In another post somebody found it at 118.8" Frequency 11728 L, tp 2, SR 20000, FEC 7/8
I am surprised that coolsat 7000 can not see that channel at 119w and 118w while it can see hundreds of other channels...

I don't have CS, but for you posted, it look like your LNB type was set wrong.
Port1 DP Dual Band 119
Port2 DP Single 110
Port3 DP Dual Band 118
Port4 DP Twin 61.5
What type of dish & SW do you have?
Best is to post a complete antenna configuration, and other will see what you had set wrong.
dishready 05-25-2007, 10:25 AM We are at a stand-still until you can identify your equipment. We have two choices: you can do alot of reading until you know what lnb's, dishes, and switches you have or; you can take some close-up, medium-resolution photos of your dishes, lnb's and all switches and post those to imageshack or somewhere. Post the links to your photos in a reply and we'll go from there.
digimonx 05-25-2007, 04:16 PM I have already posted what I know. I can not take a useful picture as dishes are located at the bad spot on the roof and I can barely see back side of the dishes. If you suggest me to claim on the roof of three story house to get details, then I am sorry, but this channel does not worth risking my life :) I hope I will run into people who can help me better in other forums.
Thanks for all your help and have fun...

I suggest you do look around, I hear some of the "pay" forums employ clairvoyant moderators...
digimonx 05-25-2007, 07:08 PM Hey guys,
For your information:
I did a blind search on my Coolsat 7000 at 118.8w (amc16) with LNB type OSC-DP and found channel 905 at 12235 Mhz, then I did a blind search on the same 118.8 with LNB type Single and found channel 905 at 13372 MHz.
Reply to my post if you need more details.
Cheers.
digimonx 05-25-2007, 07:22 PM Hey dishready,
It was actually your idea to try a blind search.
So, I added to your reputation :)
Thank you for a useful tip.
Cheers.
Remeber that Satellite - 118 is Ku band signal you have to set your LNB freq to 10750
LNB Power - on
LNB Type - ocs-dp
LNB Freq - 10750
digimonx 05-26-2007, 06:53 AM Mas:
I use the default 11250 as LNB frequency.
I did not try 10750 and can not recommend it.
I wanted to tell you that it is very distracting when you put so many irrelevant links of different colors in all your replies.
Cheers.
