I recieved my Duo today. I haven't had a lot of time to fully explore all the features, but it is one impressive unit.

I loaded 1.27 twice, did factory default, set up sats, watching tv. Man it doesn't get any easier.

Some of you are aware, that when I'm asked about the best picture quality in an STB, my response has almost always been, that Orasat has the best (of course that's all it has), well, that has changed. The CNX is equal to or better. File loading was easy via the usb, scanning was lightning fast, epg populated good for all sats, channel and sat switching has been flawless, remote is well laid out and has all the functions. I have not tried out the PVR functions, need more time.

Some things I don't like at this time and that may change as time goes on. The display is hard to read, I don't care for the renumbering of a certain provider (too many digits), and I absolutely hate that bulbous blue power button. Other than that, I haven't found too many things wrong with this receiver and I'm looking forward to future releases. Did I say that I don't like the bulbous blue power light?

Being this box is running on Beta bins and has yet to release a non-beta bin it is very impressive.

I would like to give a special thanks to el bandido for twisting my arm , to try this unit. Also to Z3RO COOL, (for what you did for me) Chuck, and all the other members that have already reviewed this unit.

Thumbs up to the CNX team! Good Job!

Me thinks a 1 inch piece of black tape is mandatory!

I am glad you like the Duo, and I was wondering how you were going to rate the picture. Now I know.

el,

Most of the receivers with good pictures have a lot of overdrive of color, the CNX is sharp and has just the right amount of color. BTW, I do compare quality on the same set. I will try the component cables later tonight to see how well that does. Thanks again for twisting my arm!

You are welcome. I would imagine that a different bin will be out soon.
If you have a hard drive, then hook it into the usb port in the back. The pvr is the other half of this machine. Let the testing begin!!!

I finally quit procrastinating and threw a Iomega 320gb usb hard drive on the unit to run the pvr side through some hoops. Out of the box formatting with the receiver was a piece of cake. Did some taping, pausing of live TV, etc. Still going to try some timed recordings, but so far looks and works really good. Good Stuff!

El,

I had to look! Don't even remember what the last file was! 132. Free time is something that is at a premium right now!

Did you hook up the component cables and if so did it make a difference in the picture?
