Captain Owners,
We are sorry to inform you that C-Force Group is ceasing to support any Captain products and has been dissolved. We appoligize for any inconvenience this may cause Captain owners. The reason for this action is the irreconcilable differences that exist in the methods and business practices of Captain Inc. Team Reliable will be retaining all of the former C-Force members for added support on the ExtremeView Line of products.

Please do not try to contact us as this will be our final post and any other message posted under the name C-Force or C-Force Group will be a forgery.

A WARNING:
Any future Captain file releases may cause irrepairable damage to your Captain product.

Thanks,
C-Force Group

Nice of you to inform us all of this
.
Any information on whether the Team Reliable people will ever solve the problems with the Magnum Receiver or is support for the Magnum dead as well????.
Magnum v150 bin is close but still a few issues to resolve like video stutters and freezing.

Not to hi-jack a thread; so, I'll just say, TR isn't about to quit on the Magnum and to-date it's one super receiver.
Word is TR will be releasing a new bin soon. [No time frame, yet]

C-Force Group was to handle Captain line. Due to certain business issues they chose to end any further connections with supporting Captain receivers.

Anyways to keep this on topic team reliable is not leaving magnum and never will. The 151 series is being tested. No release date but just to let you know tr is working on it and will never stop supporting the magnum.

The amount I sold one of my Magnum receivers for just keeps growing and growing.

How do you know how many of these units I own??

Nice to hear support for Magnum is still happening, looking foreword to v151 and hopefully a glitch free box.

This would concern me because I and some immediate relatives have Magnum boxes still with ever present video stutter and freezing issues.

Is that clear enough for you.

I've contacted Captain Inc. in Mississauga, ON concerning C-Force's decision.

They got back with this e-mail:

Hey buddy,
Parts of this post aren’t true. There is a functional working file for captain now and there will always be. The situation is under control. We are trying to find out how this got posted. Please spread the word.

I appreciate your help

I would assume the functional working file in the above email is the factory bin file.
No sales rep for any FTA Box is going to even acknowledge that their box has a team of coders supplying bins so the box can view Nagra2 encrypted sats.

Especially to some unknown person, and In writing.

Hell you can say the same about the Pansat 1500----there hasn't been a bin released for it in over 6 months, but if you load the original factory bin on it you can still view FTA Sats.

I'm sorry bro i must have misread this
Makes me feel glad I finally dumped this box

Looking foreword to investing my funds in something new.

Tired of beating my head against the Magnum brick wall or CPU.

Certainly will not be any box with the STm5105 Processor installed in it.

I believe the processor in this box will never work properly nor will any other box with this processor installed.

and this
We have done more than ANY other FTA support team could ever do to make you a happy customer, including buying back your Magnum at more than twice what you paid for it and then letting you keep the unit

and this
Better check the posts $450 is a little exaggerated.
$350 and Mikemadd got one of my Jtags.
So $300 is more the figure

and this
Magnum XV 3300.

Come complete with manual, diseqc switch, cable and in original box.
$150 Canadian includes shipping anywhere in Canada.

USA add $10 shipping.

My math has to be way off, so 300 from mm, and sold it for 150 as per first post that you finally dumped it.

Whatever. You dumped it but you still own it, one will never know.

To get on topic yet again. Aleenoo is going around spreading rumors that this is false, it is not false, C-force is not supporting Captain anymore. Maybe they found new coders, but its not C-force.

something we can agree apon, but here is your answer to that
Quoted from aleenoo
I wanted to be fair and also give you Captain Inc's comments on this. I spoke to the CEO of Captain Inc. and he told me the following:

"...You can check on the forums and you will see that the current Captain 7000 and 8000HD are working fine. There will always be support for Captain STBs in the future whether it will be from C-Force or any other support group. We have invested and will continue to heavily invest in the success of Captain and I assure everyone that we are here to stay."

I too find it hard to believe that the CEO of the Canadian division will put in writing that there will be illegal bin support for his unit...

not that I give a rat's @ss, but you made a deal, and yet you still carry on.
what your motives are, only your twisted sense of integrity will know.
oh ya, I forgot, it's been mentioned on several occasions that you're a dealer of other boxes!

do you own a Captain?
probably not.

do you deal in Captains?
maybe so.

does a Captain have anything to do with ExtremeView?
definitely not!

you just gotta take cheap @$$ swipes any chance you get, don't you?

What happened did Magnum hire you as one of their sales reps??

No I am not, nor have I ever been a dealer of any FTA boxes.

If or when Magnum comes out with a working bin with no freezing and no video stuttering I will be the 1st to post up an ataboy thread.
Hoping v151 will be the one.

Captain Owners and All Concerned Parties,

As a consultant to C-Force Group, Captain Inc., Aleeno and others involved, I was keenly aware of the escalation of frustration and collapse in communications between the 2 parties. C-Force felt they had unrealistic expectations placed on them from the Captain Camp and the Captain Camp felt that they were not getting the support and commitment from C-Force that they deserved. This created an impass that could not be resolved by any means other than the resignation of 1 party and it wouldn't make sense for Captain to throw in the towel.

The statement regarding not loading future bin files on the Captain was written as a disclaimer for C-Force Group. This statement actually protects the Captain folks from rogue coders taking the lack of a support team as an opportunity to release "kill" bins.

The post from C-Force Group was a clean break which frees the Captain Camp to start over in the support department. A clean slate... no baggage... no residue or unfinished business.

I feel for you Captain Owners as you are living in uncertain times but we will keep the Captain Section open and hopefully the latest files and support info will be posted here for your convenience.

Lastly, I would ask that you all give it some time, relax and watch some TV on your Captains. These types of situations tend to get resolved quickly and will become yesterday's news shortly.

this is a c/p:

Captain Owners,
There is nothing quite so depressing as waking up to face a day when you know that you are going to have to deal with your greatest fear. This is that day for the people in the Captain camp and a truely sad day for you Captain 7000 and 8000HD owners.

Ships That Pass In The Night

Team Reliable and the Captain folks tried to reach an agreement for support but were unable to come to terms because everytime we made headway they would change the deal. Finally, after watching them strip all of our incentives from the deal, we closed the negotiations and ended the talks.

Taking The Wind Out Of His Sails

Aleeno(The official voice of Captain) is a young guy who has zero experience in this industry but seems to think that he knows everything. He likes to say one thing and do another. As for him releasing the"Official" Captain files... lol. Anyone can get these files from the manufacturer's site at www.allstb2000.com. I would expect them to tighten up security some after they get word of this post! lol.

Shape Up or Ship Out!

All you Captain owners need to know the truth about these boxes. The hardware in the Captain 7000 is practically identical to the ExtremeView XV-3300 Magnum. The main difference is the name! The Captain 8000HD is a MPEG-2 HD unit which will NEVER be anything but MPEG-2. So that means you can watch HD on BeV (82° West) only! But, once they move to MPEG-4 (before Jan 08) you will no longer be able to tune any decent HD channels. Also, we tried to get the Koreans to understand things like D*shPro and Legacy LNBs and switching but they just didn't couldn't get it.

The Captain Always Goes Down With His Ship

I think the main reason that the folks at Captain decided to string us along was misinformation about what is needed for support. The engineers in Korea have very large egos and seem to think that they can do everything from there. We tried to explain that the Koreans don't even have access to the satellite stream that they need to test potential solutions, but our words fell on deaf ears. The Koreans will continue their futile efforts to try to support the Captain receivers but since they have no North American support team, their FTA ship is sinking fast.

Even Rats Abandon A Sinking Ship

I wish the folks at Captain best of luck in finding a real support team. Team Reliable is NOT supporting them. I hope you Captain owners can enjoy your STBs for a little while longer but it looks like the end it near. Rest In Peace - Captain...

Hello all:

I tried to ignore this waste of time but since Mikesmadd has allocated efforts to spread his post I believe a reply is due. I will try to keep this as brief as possible as I am sure most of us are sick of hearing about it and a lot of us just don’t care for this drama.

First off, I have previously stated that Captain has a new support team that produced the May 22nd file and the June 5th file for the Captain 7000. Furthermore, Mike claims that Captain Inc took out the value of doing business with TR yet he forgot to mention that he was asking Captain for ridiculously huge amounts of money for support that he has not even delivered yet (I have ample proof of this) Perhaps this is because Mike is under the impression that TR is the only support team in the market and certainly the one with the most skills and experience, which is somewhat a disillusioned and laughable concept. Nonetheless, this entire post is directed towards Mikesmadd directly and not to the entire TR staff whom I think are fair and decent guys.

As to mikesmadd’s allegations regarding my experience, yes I am a young guy! Thank you Mike. As to my experience in this industry I do not think Mikesmadd is in a position to evaluate that since he has no knowledge of what my experience is! Again, I am not the head of Captain Inc. and the people making the final decisions on Captain’s dealings have been in the electronics wholesale and retail business-next to many other endeavors-for a very long time and have ample experience in creating and maintaining a successful business; much surpassed my experience.

The files are indeed available on allstb2000 which is a website owned by our Korean counterparts and it is certainly not something hidden or a secret!

Regarding the hardware of Captain being similar to the magnum I really don’t see where mikesmadd is trying to go with this; how about Fortec and Pansat? If mike is foolish enough to make the implication that Captain and Magnum are manufactured by the same factory I can easily prove otherwise with ascertain from the magnum factory itself.

Furthermore, regarding the Captain 8000HD, Captain never even claimed that it an MPEG4 compatible unit! And apparently Mike works with Bev and DN since he knows the exact date the switch to MPEG4 will occur! In anyway, Coolsat 8000HD and Captive Works 3000HD also are not compatible with MPEG 4 so why is mike trying to single out the Captain is just a little bit of a futile and confused attempt.

With regards to Captain’s Korean team I think they are a bunch of great cooperative guys and in Mikesmadd’s own words “they are the most cooperative Korean team we have worked with” I have proof that mike did say this. Also, Mike has neglected to mention the fact that he kept insisting that the Koreans hand over the entire source code of the unit in order for TR to be able to produce a bin, which is of course not necessary! ( I have proof of this too).

Finally, yes Mike, it does seem the end is near, but not for Captain.

To all those who support fair competition and could care less for those who attempt to dramatize and make a soap opera out of a viable business, cheers to you.

Best Regards,

Aleenoo
