read woofy's post about 104 bin that it could record up to 4 gig, but if i record a show more than 3 or 3 1/2 hours it only goes up to 2 hours max just a little more than 2 gig on the file. i hope that next file will record up to three or more hours maybe with a little tweak will do. i like the picture quality on this box than my other boxes i've tested. anyway on my other thread record file is on (ts transport stream file) i guess i answered my question just want to pass it on to others.

It does do more than that..i have to read more but..if you use the epg it will just record 2 hours.(bin bug) but..and this is just from reading..use the record button and it will record till the show is over...I will be picking up one myself pretty soon myself. as you know its a new box so it will take a little while before everything is perfect...i hear close caption does not work yet also..looks like a nice machine either way.:D

Confirmed that the CC does not work yet. Havent tried to really record anything over 2 hours.

I am not familiar with the Coolsat 7000. But just a thought. Do you have this hard drive formatted NTSF or FAT? FAT has a 2 gig per file limit.

external HD formatted thru unit itself i guess it's FAT, NTSF format won't work on CS 7K.

FAT32 file system has 4GB file size limit as much as I know.
