I've got a captive works premium which is considered dead. i recently learnt on another forum that when the TSOP is messed up there only one way to go and that's cloning. i may sound silly but please bear with me ,i'm new and so ignorant to the term ''clone" as it relates to fta. so is there anyone who can steer me in right direction as to how this is done? also can a captive works be cloned

The only known tested and proven way of reviving a dead captiveworks, one with red light only, stuck on “boot”, or no sign of life is via the old computer method originated by Neutron……hats off to him
This old computer must have db9 serial port only, no USB port and with older windows software which is running dos. It’s said to be a software issue and not hardware.
just load factory file with old computer(non-usb), then load other files (same as new stb) and you’re good to go.
NB* Cloning and other method works only when you see “boot” or ” --:--“ on front panel.

Her is a guide to clone a CW600:
You need a CW600 with prgram and BIN which we will call unit A and the other CW600 which needs to be preogrammed we will call this unit B.
Connect both units using a NULL Modem cable.
Put unit A in stand by mode (--:--)
Turn on unit B and unit A will display H and start to blink.
With the remote control input the desired code of the download:
1111 = transfer s/w
2222 = Transfer Data
3333 = Transfer Data then s/w
4444 = Transfer All except the Loader
After inputing the 4 digit code the transfer will begin.
Unit A will display numbers and the letter U.
Receiver B will display numbers and the letter D.
When the transfer is complete receiver B will display END and will now contain the program and BIN file ready to be used.
I haven't tried it with the CW800 but I think it applies to all CW receivers.
