I have a big problem does anyone know how to slove this problem?

I installed everything correctly but when i hit the star to download the file my computer get shutof and restart and give me error micrsoft blue death screen I am using usb to serial converter to download the becuse i don't have serial port in my computer ?

On my XP installation the older version of loader (any installation-based one, v2.24 for example) replaced two system32 files on my machine (msvcrt.dll and scrrun.dll). The ancient copies it installed completely messed my machine up (it wouldn't even boot, complaining about missing functions in msvcrt.dll). Through recovery console I replaced the two files with good copies from another machine and now use loader 3.01 (stand alone binary which does not install/messup anything)..

As a side - diagnosing the COM port:
Start Hypterterm from the start->accessories->communications folder. Configure a new connection, Connect using "COMX" where X is the com port you have connected to the viewsat. Set port speed to 115200 and leave everything else. Once hypterm shows connected (bottom left) power on the CS8K.. If your comport and cable are functioning correctly you should see a couple lines from the cs8k's boot loader.

What operating system are you using, and do you have a null moden cable. Answer these two questions and we'll have you up and running in ten minutes.

I have the same problem that cannot make it works. I try to load the bin to my new CS8k but nothing heppening . I use Windows XP Home Edition, null cable and loader 2.24 , 3.1. I used to play with Pansat, Pantec, Cooltec, Coolsat, Viewsat and never had any problem. But Coolsat 8000HD is hard. So need some help from gentlemen who have an expirence on this toy. Thanks

turn the coolsat 8000 power off, then press start button on the loader, and then turn the coolsat 8000 power back on.

I have a same problem, and it took me half day to flash it.
I have 2 other receivers, I have both type of cables and
I have usb to serial converter.

Every time when I've tried to flash it, just rebooted at many different
stages/percentages. I've tried 10-15 times at least when finally
flashed it. I have no idea why it's doing this.
Yaa, and it didn't do anything with that cable what i 've got with
coolsat, I had to use my other cable what I've got to program my viewsat :mellow:

Another weird observation, I was watching tv yesterday and then
it just freezed suddenly. When I turn it off and on after 10-15 secs
it was fine again. Definietly need some software update, like I don't
have epg for hd, can't turn it off autorolls etc.
BUT the pictures if i have it, it's AWESOME.

I think now, I am testing a receiver, we have a lots of problem, but
when we have picture, we just can't breath :wow:

have you tried verifying connectivity w/ hyperterm yet?

I am trying for 2 days now and I cannot download the file to my new CS8000HD. I even did the hyperterm, when it is connected, I turn on my receiver, but I dont see any lines in hyperterminal. Do I have wrong cable? This is the cable which came with the receiver. Please help!

You probably have the wrong cable. Mine was delivered with the wrong cable.
You can pick up a null modem cable at any computer store. I suppose that a lot
of these receivers were shipped with the incorrect cable.

Thank you! I will go buy a Null Modem Cable. But my friend has pansat and he is successfully updating his pansat with his cable. I even borowed his cable but same thing. So different models use differnet cables? Thanks

yes different models use different cables,pansats use both cables!so be carefull,depending on what pansat model your friend has,you could be using the wrong cable.

I had same problem,and I even didn't do hyperterm but after using null cable it was loading fine,now somethin else happend,my bev is working OK reception for D..H birds are ok but cant do any key loads ,not shure what to do.
If anyone knows whats happening please let me know

Hello, I have a similar problem and cant find the answer to my prayers.
My PC ports wont see my CS8K!. I am using null cables (tried 2) on a serial port that works with another device but it wont work. I tried both COM2 and 5, available same thing.. I have spent two days on this, I just can make it work....major headaches...
The funny thing is that CSUpgradeV3.01 opens the ports but wont show a progress bar or anything, the receiver shows load, reboots and thats it! ughhhhh..

I am stuck, cant even pass the first step, installing the factory BINs.

Any ideas before I get insane?

I am having the same problem. Every time I try to load a sgn file with the upgrade software it just starts and then never finishes loading. The progress bar just sits their and the receiver resets.
If I turn the receiver off at the back switch, it says no software.

It is defininetly the com ports on the computer somehow. I have been fighting this upgrade for 6 days. Last night, I went to a computer with a real com port and it worked immediately.
Something with the software in my USB to com or ???

hi, i just bought new coolsat 8000 i lose the channels it say wait download in progress i wait until next day and it back working has anyone else had this problem?????
