Hi,
Can someone tell me what type of dish can receiver a High Definition signal? I have an old RCA oval dish from DTV. Can it receiver a HD signal? I am interesting to buy a Coolsat 8000. I would be appreciated if someone can help me.

I ran the DirecTV dish for a day or two before upgrading to a handful of dishes.. I now have 2 rca, 2 dish-500s and one Qsat something (4 LNBs).

While you can point that RCA at most sats the problem is you'll need at least one more dish for a second satellite for HD + regular/non-hd content.

I would recommend adding at least a dish-500 (even if you only use one of its LNBs initially). You could "survive" off the RCA 'till it arrives..

HD signals are no different to receive than standard mpeg2.....I'd suggest a Dish500 to start with, and if you want to get fancy, upgrade to a Dish1000, that will give you 110/119/129... or you can simply use a Dish500 with a DishPro Twin, and another Dish300(preferably a 24") with a Dishpro Dual...a 4x1 DiseqC will connect that together for you, and do a good job..

If you only have 1 dtv dish, you have 2 choices,
1: get a dish 1000.2.. this will get ya 119/110/129
2: use a dish 500 for 119/110 and point that dtv dish to 129 used with a switch. The 1000.2 is the best way, BUT not too sure if Coolsat will power up that big ole lnb it has, might need a DN box for help. Do alot of research and ask more questions. Good Luck !
