View Full Version : loading receiver AMX1 02-21-2007, 07:41 AM can anyone tell me what does open error or time out mean when loading the SP 6000 premium fails to load. thanks defx101 02-21-2007, 08:28 AM I dont have a premium just a regular 6000 but they are pretty much the same except for a few things. How exactly are you loading the file? Over usb? Are you sure ur unzipping the bin? Use winrar or winace to do so. Edit:Seems like your asking the same questions over and over again. You should read the rules and quit making multiple threads. tester1957 02-21-2007, 11:58 AM AMX1... I answered your question about why you are receiving the error you are yesterday... http://forums.dsstester.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=82589... check it out... and as defx101 suggested you might want take look at the site rules regarding multiple threads asking the same question.... AMX1 02-21-2007, 06:10 PM I didn't think you did answer my question. I specifically asked what the two different types of error messages meant and that was all I wanted to know about. I was also curious about whether not I was using the right cable because I didn't want to go out and get a USB if I didn't need to. tester1957 02-21-2007, 06:36 PM Okay... to answer your 2 specific questions... the "Time error" means the program did not receive a response back from the stb before the program time out limit... and the "Open error" means the program could not read the file you were trying to load... I apologize I thought you were asking for help flashing your receiver and if you were trying to load a rar file that would explain the errors you were receiving.... and yes a null modem cable is the correct type cable... G8R027 02-21-2007, 07:45 PM 1: Connect DB9 Serial Null Modem Cable (Female/Female) "DB9 NULL F/F" on back of Receiver. Will only fit on one connector. 1a. If you do not have the DB9 Cable I have successfully utilized the following items from the local radio shack Female DB9 to Female DB9 RS 232C Cable (26-152B) with a Null modem adapter Model: 26-264 | Catalog #: 26-264 2: Connections are from computer to STB 3: Power on STB. Also utilize procedures previously stated in the howto guide. Good Luck |
