I read the manual, searched the forum, and tried editing my last thread so I wouldn't have to make this one. My dad wants to set a parental control, but there are options that we dont know what to set. The manual was no help and neither was google. Could anybody explain what to do, and what to set?

Channel Lock: Off, Continuous, once?
power on: on? off?
install menu: on? off?

I think you are in the wrong option. Back up to the second item across the top, the scissors. The "Channel Lock" there looks to allow you to lock any channels you choose. I never use that option and don't know how well it works though.

It works very well. I had to lock the pr0n channels for my parents as they still have children about. It requires the password whenever you navigate to a locked channel before it will show picture or sound. It doesn't lock the descriptions. Also, it's important to turn the maggie off and back on to clear the password because you can go back to a previously viewed channel without reentering the sound.

thanks vassago and one2one, I showed my dad how to set it up, he chose a password and did the rest. Hopefully its set well before someone watches something their not suppose to :rolleyes:

Don't know what was wrong with me when I typed that. What I meant was, you can watch a locked channel, change the channel, then use channel history to go back to the channel without it asking for the password. You must press the power button off and back on to reset the password so that you need to enter it again on channel history.
