i need a few questions answered:...i have the unit hooked up to exsisting dir---tv dish..i dont know which is the right lnb to select..universal,?...i selected standard and did a blind scan and it went through the process and no channels came up when it finished...so really all i have is a menu screen and thats it..
i noticed when i select echostar 8,10 the power bar is 30% and the quality bar is 28%....i dont know much about this stuff but that seems mighty low....any help for a beginner would be appreciated...

First question is.. What DTV dish do you have.??
http://www.solidsignal.com/satellite/directv_dish_antenna_types.asp
Let's hope its not the dreaded PhaseIII dish..

Second, never bother to do any scans until you are confident that you have accurately pointed your dish, and that you are locked onto the sats you really want... Don't necessarily be concerned with Low Signal levels... Neusat is notorious for low numbers.. it's all relative.. the only real criteria is how good your Picture quality is on screen..

Let's get the dish/LNB issue resolved first, and the move on from there..

A phase 1 DTV antenna will work... but it is more than likely pointed at 101w which is the main programming satellite for their system... you will need to point it either at 110w or 119w to receive dish programming....

will i need a satellite finder for that? {meter}...i will try to get the dish set and get back here when done.

you should be able to adjust the EL setting on that dish for either 110 or 119, and then slowly pan it further west.. you should find a signal pretty quick..you're most likely starting from 101, so you only need to go a short distance..

Use this site to get pointing specs for your location:

If you could find another DTV dish like that one, you could connect them together with a DiseqC switch, and get ALL of dish's main programming on your new box...!!

Is there any way to pull Direct channels from FTA box?
If you are trying to get DTV on the FTA...then no not possible....if you are referring to the loading of a channel list directly into the Neusat....I have heard you can do it thru the stb loader program that you use when you use a null modem cable to program.....I myself have never tried or used a channel list...I always scan for my channels....and have never loaded a bin to the Neusat with the program.....I always use the usb flash drive to load the bin.
Hope that helps.:)

I thought satelites 110 and 119 where dave satelites?

dave uses a few transponders on 110 and 119... but they are the main programming birds for charlie... that's why the phase III dave antenna does not work well with charlie because dave filters out charlie's transponders...

Both DAVE and Charlie own birds at 110 and 119.. They are parked at each orbital location in close proximity,,, ie- a few miles apart...

In fact, at 110, DAVE owns one sat, while Charlie owns 3..!! count 'em, 3 sats...At 119, Dave owns 1, while Charlie owns 2.. they simply agree on who will use which TPs in the overall frequency plan.. the only rule they need to follow, is neither can use a TP that is being used by the other sat broadcaster... simple as that...the only exception to that might be in the case of spotbeams, where they could each use the same freq, but not to the same area...I haven't checked to see if that is actually being used tho....
