I have a Pansat 6000 HXC with a Dish Network 500 dish and a Dish Pro LNB. I have loaded the new bin 3136 and adjusted antenna setup from what I have read, then scanned for channels. The only channels I get are 485 (ASHOW), 500 (ONPPV), and 407 (GOLTV). Why is this? All the other channels say scrambled or bad channel. I know I got my dish pointed right. Well,I think becuase it worked before and signal is good when I scan channels and set up satalites per signal bar etc. EPG works when it wants to and occasionally gets bogged down as I click up or down (kind of like a computer). EPG also at power up when I hit ok will say, "Please wait updating guide....." and it will stay like that forever until I exit manually. I have tried scanning in different ways. I changed the name of satelites from echo 7 to echo 119 and echo 10 to echo 110, like I read in the forums...but one thing I didnt understand is..the guide said change echo 8.6 to echo 110. I don't have the option of Echo 8.6???? So I do Echo 10 to Echo 119. What does that mean??? By the way I have never had to do that name changing on a satalite to get it to worked before. Can someone please specify How to have the antenna setup settings for Echo 110 and Echo 119.....and if the name changing is neccessary. I do not have a Diseqc so I tried scanning with it off and on 1,2 etc. Another thing is on my hardrive I only have the 3136 bin loaded on it. Before It had other stuff like folders for movies I recorded when it worked and other files like channel something?? I deleted all that and only left the bin. Does that have something to do with it??? I have also read on forums that you can do channel key entrys manually. I don't know if that is what I am missing and need to do. ANY ASSISTANCE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.....IT IS SAD TO SAY I HAVE HAD THIS UNIT LIKE A YEAR AND ONLY HAD IT UP LESS THAN A MONTH...AND NOT STRAIGHT THRU...IT HAS BEEN VERY INTERMITENT...I ALWAYS GIVE UP AND LET IT SIT THERE UNTIL I GET THE COURAGE TO TRY AGAIN.... THANKS

P.S I live in Southern California and I would love to attend a FTA conference, gathering, club or something. Is there any types of shows or events for this type of hobby.

First - No, you do not need to change the names of either the satellites or the channels. That is something that you can do if you don't like the names that come up when you scan. My recommendation is to leave this option alone until you are more comfortable with what you are doing.

Second - Your DishPro lnb has a built-in switch. You still need to put these settings in under the installation menu for your receiver: Sat 119 (or Echo 7) needs to be set to diseqc = 1, Sat 110 (or Echo 8.6) needs to be set to diseqc = 2. Your lnb type needs to be set to DishPro.

Third - Your scrambled channel message means that you don't have the correct keys loaded. You need to make sure in the settings that keycode is set to ON and DN is set to ON. This is in the menu settings somewhere. (Sorry, I don't remember exactly where and I can't check at the moment as that receiver is put away.)

By re-naming the satellites to ECHO 119 and ECHO 110, your scanned satellites can be set up as Echostar Package which makes them the same numbers as you 622. You do this by selecting Sat on your remote and selecting "Echostar Package".

If you haven't already, read my "Scanning" thread...

And as of today, you should be running 3137.
