Ok I've had my Magnum up and running since Dec. A couple of days ago wife sits on remote an on the screen it says "TP UPDATING", I hit exit and continue to watch tv. Then over the last couple of days been losing channels. Now I got nothing from the great north. I have tried to factory reset and reloading v136 and 138. Anybody got any ideas??:cry:

try putting in the keys manually for that sat , i had the same problem

I checked the keys and they are correct You mean manually input the same keys that are already there? Oh and heres the best part... I got a full guide and all my channels come up "scrambled"

i wound up doing a factory default and redid all settings and recanned, still on the 138 bin, then when i switched to the other sat[up north] as soon as i saw the update screen i entered the keys manualy and all came back

To properly get the northern provider since the Map57 returned you need to use an auxed card in the Magnum.

Dont bash me for talking about the Northern provider as you will soon see why I am. :D

Yes for magnum and coolsat you need a 102 or 103 for (ehem) her.

Read this link and you will see what is happening. http://forums.dsstester.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=79083 You are not alone. The only solution at this time is to run the aux card in the magnum. I haven't tried what jd said, but I'm going to try it now. For now I am using the card and everything is up.

also just put the keys in my ultra and all is good on northern provider, i did see a two minute time lapse before picture came on, i will try my viewsat extreme next

As far as Map 57, it's a map call called from rom (which the card has built in), FTAs must simulate this MAP, therefore coders must figure out complex algorythms and emulate the map call like the cards do. Viewsat already had Map 57 included in there BINS hence no problems, others didn't which is why there is no "northern sat". Captiveworks just released a new BIN for there 600 premiums so i would gather the others won't be too far behind. Always nice to have a backup like a magnum or coolsat for the aux purpose, so don't be so hard on the Maggie, if ya had a 102 or 103 you'd be laughing. I suggest instead of purchasing another FTA purchase a card and keep it in a safe place for rainy days such as this.
