I have at present a Pansat 3500 S and in my work place a friend of mine wants to buy it(don't have a clue as to how much?) There are a lot of very good fta receivers on the market now. For some crazy reason I am considering the new Magnum. Dollar-for-dollar,feature-for-feature,I believe,the Magmum has ALL the others beat. I really don't understand about the card or cardless fixes. My pansat uses the SD card fix.Is the Magnum easier to fix and really a better box than Viewsat Ultra or platnum,or any pansat? Thanks.

Magnum and Viewsat are both good choices.
Both are light years ahead of the Pansat 3500.

As long as the power supply keeps working,the magnum is fine.
Don't ever connect a tv to the loop out connector,it kills the
power supply.(probably only a problem with a tv plugged into
an ac outlet other than the one the receiver is plugged into)
Put a piece of tape over the connector to prevent accidents.

magnum or ultra both great receivers, pick one and read up on set up info while you wait for it to get there

I have a pansat 2700a and it worked fine when my extremeview went down . I wouldn't sell me pansat even though i realy like my magnum
