<_< Also, some other things I noticed, since getting this.

1. Sometime random reboots, esp when going into System setting and changing the background theme from B1 or B4, etc..
2. Sometimes the audio is loss for some channels. After turning unit back off and on, then the audio sometimes comes up.
3. Related to quality, I noticed the level is lower than my Fortec Classic, given the same dish/LNB setup. For example, a channel that shows 66% quality on my Classic shows as 50% on CW 600S Premium... However, on the plus side, I noticed that when it rained heavy, my Classic quality would drop and my picture would suffer and cut-out, but the 600S Premium, continued to maintain a good quality, dropping a little bit slightly, but still keeps a good clear stable picture.
4. When I tried to add a bunch of favorite channels, after about 200 or so, it would give me an error saying "FAV is full," and lock-up.. I could do anything, so I had to turn it from the back off and back on.
5. Also, it seems that the EPG loses its shows when you turn the unit off (soft power button)? Then after a few minutes it is re-loaded again... doesnt it keep the EGP in memory after being soft-off?

Other than that, seems to be a great unit.. much better and more functions than my Classic.

Also... more comments.

1. I dont particularly like the OSD, the font is too big, and I dont like that font ... it looks kinda ugly.. I prefer a clean font, like the one on my Fortec Classic... Also the Premium OSD doesnt seem clean and uses too much space so you get less viewing area on the screen due to the font and position of wording, etc... If you got to Sadoun's website you can get a screen shot of what the Classic OSD menu system looks like...

2. When I go into Sat mode to view all the channels for that sat, it gives me a big window that overlays the main viewing channel, thereby blocking most of the picture. I wish the would have the channel window smaller and to the side, and a PIG (viewing picture independent on the right hand side) so you can see the channel listing and picture at the same time w/o them overlaying each other.

3. When I hit the first Info button, it shows some icons in the menu bar above the signal strength, looking like some graphic, like a movie director picture or something like that but I dont know what those icon graphics mean.. d'oh.. then manual sucks and does tell you much... are those icons related to the favourite picture icons (8 favourite icons)?

4. so what is the maximum number of favourites I can assign? I mean I can get like 1000 channels and I go thru them to assign them into a favourite group (it's a pain), so I could conveiabably assigan 1000 favourite channels (more if you assign one channel to multiple fav groups)...??

5. I heard the channel changing was fast.. but it doesnt look like that.. it seems like it takes about 1-2 seconds to get a new picture... still faster than my Classic which takes 2-3 seconds, but not fast like changing channels on a regular TV.

6. That PIP (4-16-...) doesnt work well at all. the picture is very slow to populate into each slot.. quite unusable as it stands now.. not that I would use it anyways.. hehheh....

Mine liked to reboot as well, but mine was caused by going into the antena settings to set up the box. To fix the rebooting problem I went into:
menu - inastallation - factory default and select factory reset all. That seemed to fix several problems I was having.

4. When I tried to add a bunch of favorite channels, after about 200 or so, it would give me an error saying "FAV is full," and lock-up.. I could do anything, so I had to turn it from the back off and back on.

I only played with the Favs a bit, but had some problems. There are only 8 Categories, and when I renamed 1 and added Chans to it, it would only show up in the menu - Chan and when watching TV it couldnt be accessed.

Not sure if this will help, but from what I've read, you can change the display to be more like some of the other manufactures boxes. i.e. Viewsat, Coolsat, Pansat style. From main menu system setting - system - EPG style

Yes, I believe that the icons are for the 8 Fav categories.

It agree that it is kinda a pain, and after I added some Favs to a cateogry, they wouldnt show up. I renamed the 8th Fav Cat to NHL and added the NHL chans, and it would only display the original default name for that cat and said it contains no chans. Upon going back into the menu - Chan settings, my NHL cat is still there along with the chans. :mellow:

Overall I think its a decent box. The price is definately right. It was a bit hard to figure out how to setup at first, but the users here were great at helping me figure out the slight problems I was having. The learning curve isnt that sharp.

Yeah, dont get me wrong.... I do like this box... it's working fine now for the most part..

Basically now I am having a hard time keeping so many channels and sats organized.... for example, I have DiSeqC switch connecting to 4 sats.. they work fine when I hit SAT to switch from LNB1 to LNB4...

However, when I go into EPG mode, it shows all the channels for all the sats... what I would like to see is the EPG to restrict itself to the SAT that I selected....

Also, another thing that I got used to when using my Fortec Classic.. when in TV list mode (10 channels show up on the screen menu and you can see the picture in the background) when I go up or down a channel, the channel doesnt change until I hit the OK button.. ON the Classic, the channel would change as I go up or down... I prefer that behaviour instead...

I'm just commenting more as I go along... keep in mind these are minor annoyances, but overal, I do like this box, so name flames, please....
