View Full Version : Please Help With Extremeview Magnum shezan 01-03-2007, 12:45 PM I just got the extremeview magnum and did everything i could to set it up. sat 119,110, 61.5 set up properly and keys entered in also. still all the channels say service is current scrambled except channel 101 which is the dish network fyi. wut should i do? Remember to ALWAYS turn main rear switch OFF - BEFORE Connecting or DIS-Connecting anything whatsoever to / from the box. THANKS why would you enter keys, all that you need to do is load the 138 bin and scan only the sats you are aimed at, also make sure all other menu settings are correct, make sure your antenna settings are right chuck 01-03-2007, 05:41 PM Follow Grüner Elefant's advice and read the "how to" to set up the Magnum. It is a bit different for the initial setup than other receivers. I never loaded the latest factory to any of my Magnums before loading the latest bin when I took them out of the box though. They work just fine. Right out of the box I loaded the latest most current bin then followed the setup procedures for the initial setup. After the initial setup just reload as needed with the updated bins as they come out. Is there a fix for this? I loaded all the current bins and fixes for the extremeview magnum 3300. Also when you load a bin do you have to put the old one first and then the new one or can you just load the updated bin/fix and bypass the old file if they refer to the same problem ect? thanks dale Ftaplaya 01-04-2007, 02:18 PM it is recommended to load the v128 factory file first than the new file. You should need do this only once. But again its touch and go, I have yet to ever load the factory file and my magnum is fine. Ill have to look into the favorite group thing a bit more, as it has been awhile since i have tried to use it.
