just seen a guy on ebay trying to sell a bga

"This is a rom 103 bga chip mounted to a wafer board and loaded with special software that emulates a 102 card. This special software allows this 103 to work as a 102 but in 301 receviers. The special software contained on these cards does prevent it from processing ecm via the card but instead it manually does it via special code on the card. Doing this prevents the card from processing harmfull executable code that might be sent to it to try and loop it."

any truth to this? i got a rom 103 bga, but havint herd of any progrmming to convert to a 102. anyone have any info if it can be done?

Why not just get a receiver that takes a 103?

Dual-Tuner FTW :p

Yeah that is a good idea, but I would have to get a 921, as I would need the dual tuner and HD....but I haven't heard too much about those being tested.... When I do get a dual tuner I will have this card ready to rock.....

The benefit of these cards is that they are supposed to be immune to stream looping (a la the 12/12 ECM). The B1 sent (and most probably still in the stream) supposedly just fades away....although I haven't heard too much about the B2 that is being sent out......perhaps being both a ROM 102 and 103 (or neither) makes the card immune to both B1 and B2
