View Full Version : Help with connecting my Dish 500 lnb's
Brew66 12-10-2006, 07:11 AM I have an older Dish 500 system that I use now with a sub and am wondering if that can be used with the XV-3300 or if I will have to change the lnb's? Tried searching for the answer but didn't see it posted.
Thanks,

Thanks for the reply. I don't know yet but will check. If DP means Dish Pro then I am pretty sure they don't as I think they are the older legacy type.

Raider51 12-10-2006, 09:56 AM Brew,
If they are legacy these settings should work for you
119:LNB Type:single
LNB Power:auto
DISEqC:P-1
Multi Dish Switch:SW21 dish 1
110:LNB Type:single
LNB Power: auto
DISEqC: p - 2
Multi Dish Switch - SW21- Dish 2
If they are dishpro DP
119
LNB TYPE = Dishpro
FREQ HIGH = 14350
FREQ LOW = 11250
LNB POWER = ON or AUTO
DISEQC VER = V1.0
DISEQC = P1
22 KHZ = AUTO
MULTI SWITCH = OFF
110 all settings the same except assign DISEQC to P-2

Thank you so much for your help. They are legacy--I checked--so when get a moment will try the setup you suggested. Thanks again.

As a afterthought, what settings would I need for Echo 3 @ 61.5?
Raider51 12-10-2006, 11:06 AM I'm Assuming that you are talking about a second dish? Or, are you talking about substituting 61 for 119 or 110? I may you need you to explain exactly how you are setup. For instance is there two dishes and how many wires are coming off the dishes, how many receivers are you using, etc.

There are two dishes--1 on 119 & 110 and a 2nd dish on 61.5. There are dual feeds off of each dish with one coax going to one receiver in one room and the second to another receiver elsewhere in the house. Both receivers can get programming from all three sats.

Raider51 12-10-2006, 11:42 AM What kind of switches are being utilized? There should be a sw21 switch somewhere in this mix. This would be used to tie the third sat in. Take a look at this guide, should be around page 29 and see if it is what you have. http://forums.dsstester.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=56166
Brew66 12-10-2006, 11:46 AM Yes there is an SW-21....when I do a switch test with the Dish 6000 I have it shows 119 & 110 as Sat1 and 61.5 as Sat 2.

Raider51 12-10-2006, 11:55 AM Ok, I'm not 100 percent sure with the sw21 and the dp lnb's would be much easier to setup, but what you want to try is this.
119:LNB Type:single
LNB Power:auto
DISEqC:P-1
Multi Dish Switch:SW21 dish 1
110:LNB Type:single
LNB Power: auto
DISEqC: p - 2
Multi Dish Switch - SW21- Dish 2
61.5:LNB Type:single
LNB Power:auto
DISEqC:P-3
Multi Dish Switch:SW21 dish 1
You are going to have to play with multidish switch setting to see which one works the best. Hopefully someone with the same setup will chime in. If you were using DP the setup would be very simple, but with the legacy you will have to try different combinations till you find the right one. Try the above settings and let us know what worked and what didn't and we can try something else
