I'm just curious how its better then a pansat or a viewsat.

Did you read the review and the responses? As always this is something you need to decide for yourself. We all have our opinions. The Extremeview is a very nice unit. I havent tried the others you mentioned so cant compare.

Fastest CPU, loads of memory, best support at present and the clearest sharpest picture of any FTA Receiver.
Need I say more.

jake i have run viewsat, ariza and from what i have read the magnum has a crystal clear picture and the advantage of running card or cardless, in my opinion if they add a usb flash capability the magnum will have it all, just my opinion

I'll give you my objective opinion after I receive it. Hopefully it will be as good as everyone says it is.

big memory..big deal..ask how much is actually being used in any fta...bigger is not better...faster fixes that cover both providers makes one better than the other..my VS`s guide and picture quality beat out my magnum..they advertise a 7 day epg which hardly ever works ..its more like 3 days and that u have to wait for using various methods..my vs guide is always availibe with 24 hr programming at a touch..and ALWAYS has 2-3 hours ..and no channels say NO INFO...so does the fact that my vs has worked flawlessly for eons now..and has always been the leader in Fixes( real ecm fixes)...so sure magnums better than a pansat ...but a VS..no way and anyone who says so must have a vested intrest or some affliation with Team Magnum..

If it's as fast as you say it is. I'm probably gonna get it. But I'm also looking for something that is HDMI,DVI compatible for digital picture on my plasma tv.

I have personally viewed on a 42" Panasonic plasma and it is amazing. If you aren't happy with your unit I would be amazed!!!

By the way, don't listen to stooge as he has a beef with the Magnum Forum as he got banned... All Stooge has done from what I can read in many forums is bash the Magnum instead of helping others...

Please know I do get 3 days and if I let it sit for a bit it does load 7 days. Tip... If you leave the unit on standbye on any echostar 7 channel it downloads the full 7 days... The guide also look very professional not chessy cartonish like the others.

Also, with new ECM's coming down it will need faster processor and more memory, which 90% of all fta's do not have... That includes the Viewsat... Remember key changes are happening more frequent and with New map calls this is a must.

You need a receiver for the future and the fact is you will not know exactly what it entails. Play it safe and be ready for whatever they thow at you.

Also has card reader/writer & 3 solutions cardless, ROm 102 & 103

We all know you don't like the Magnum Receiver so lets move on.

I have to agree with Dark.Complex, lengthier dick & da udder gurl's ecm's now require greater memory space for support group coder responses. Some of the old stb's 7 day guide's have dropped to 1 or 2 days because their coders' had to steal memory from the guide to have room for the added code lines. Dick & da udder gurl (finally read the rules)just peeled back some of their ecm so the older stbs suddenly began auto rolling-and when D&B start the next round of ecms the old boxes will go down quickly and for a longer time.The old boxes are technologically obsolete. Magnum is the new cutting edge for speed,memory and support.

this is the party line BS being fed by Team Unreliable and its crew over at Funwithfta..for the record ..i was banned ..but because i began to complain about the lies being told about exactly was is quoted above..how much memory is actually needed to defeat todays ecm..barely any..how much will be needed in the Future ..sure no one know...but it aint anywhere near what Vs ultra and magnum have..sure its nice to have more mem and faster processor..just say u have one...why put the FEAR of not keeping up in consumers minds and then predicate on those fears..what i said in the first post is true..so is what i said in this one..id like to see Team Magnum stop the BS and start tellin it like it is..

Okay, so buy a VS.
But if you think you might ever need the Card Aux Solution, or use the box for Real FTA, then buy the Magnum. Better picture quality is alway just a user's opinion. In fact, I think the softer picture on my CW600S is the best. A lot easier to look at. But as it stands now, the Card Aux option and real FTA capability makes it a better choice than VS for me. No other reason.
