View Full Version : Pansat 5000 keeps rebooting, will not program
prux56 11-13-2006, 03:30 PM Hey,
I have a Pansat that I have not used in a few months and when I tried to program it today it just keeps rebooting. I turn it on and it seems to start up okay but then it hangs for a couple seconds, a "27" flashes on the LED and then it reboots. It just keeps doing this over and over and because it never stays loaded for long it will not let me program it with any other BIN. I have tried with the USB connection and the serial cable but no luck. If anyone has any suggestions or has gone throug this before I would appreciate the help. It would be nice if I can get the system prgrammed or reset to a factory default with getting to the menu.
Thanks,
Prux

Try powering off at the back. my 3500 did the same and this fixed it
dnd614 12-30-2006, 01:32 PM I have the same problem as the original poster. After I load the latest bin, the 5000HC won't boot all the way... it shows "27" and then reboots and this repeats... I haven't had any trouble with my 2500 and 2700, but this is my first time working with a 5000HC... I also loaded the original factory bin before loading the newest bin as jongab1 said but I still have the same problem... much appreciation if anyone has any suggestions
jongab1 01-01-2007, 12:52 PM Happy New Year to all.
I had to load N1 bin X-95bl_060928_3099_api after load factori bin, then load latest bin.
try this: it works also to solve same probles.
...load latest factory bin pansat5000HC_v1088_26jan06 .
...load X-95bl_060928_3099_api. (I thik anther N1 bin can work to)
...load latest bin.
hope this work.
sorry my english..
dnd614 01-01-2007, 02:18 PM Happy New Year and thank you for responding jongab1
I did what you said, but I still get the same results
First I loaded pansat5000HC_v1088_26jan06
Then I loaded X-95BL_060928_3099_api
Lastly I loaded X-95BL_061124_3109_api
When I loaded the factory bin, the receiver just stays at INIT
When I loaded the N1 bin you suggested, it flashes 27 and reboots
Same thing happens when I loaded the latest bin. It flashes 27 and reboots.
I've tried both the USB and the null cable but get same bad results... on the loader I choose App file only because when I choose Boot file only, the flash fails... If anyone has any idea what I could be doing wrong, let me know -- thanks
jongab1 01-01-2007, 03:33 PM dnd614;
there is not boot updata for 5000, so you only have to load app file.
I sugest you to use another bin older than 6099 after factory bin an before latest one.
another thing to keeping rebooting es bad conection or short in cable coming from the antenna, disconect it to loading.
thnks..
bigwig2379 01-01-2007, 06:52 PM I get the same thing also I'm not sure if it was a .bin file but there is not enough time to get back to menu before screen goes black. I try to load the previous N1 bins but I don't have enough time before my pansat reboots. I don't know if I can fix the problem I have been working on this thing all day and still no luck. What else can I do?

If your coax is connected, disconnect it and see if this solves the rebooting problem.
If it does then your problem is most likely a short in one of your coax connectors, or corrosion, or water in one of the connectors, or bad switch, or bad LNB.

thanks for the response setwire but I have a pansat 2500A and when I plug it in it gets signal and channels but I did unplug the coax from the 5000 but still no luck. I get an error message on the receiver that says "27" then it reboots on it's own. If there's anything else you can tell me I would appreciate it. I don't have the manual for this but I wonder what the "27 means and then it says "init" on the box but I can't get to reboot that either when that message comes on also.
dnd614 01-02-2007, 02:01 PM I'm making progress, but the receiver isn't up and running yet. No more rebooting problems, but it gets stuck on "init"
I did as jongab1 said and loaded the factory bin, then the 3093 bin, and lastly the latest bin
When you turn on your 5000hc, is it supposed to get past "init"? because that happened each time when loading the factory bin, 3093, and latest bin
I thought maybe I could mess with antenna settings and get past the "init" but there's no signal to scan channels and no options to proceed.. I was thinking maybe I needed to specify which IF input, but did not see any settings for that
my 2500 and 2700 were fine, but this 5000hc is giving me fits... any input appreciated guys... thanks
deuse 05-16-2007, 08:14 AM Pansat 5000HC Re-boot...(possible band-aid/fix)
Had the same re-boot problem with a 5000hc.. I found that if you install factory bin...@ END switch back button off (do not let it self re-boot) then hook receiver back up to TV/dish and run thru your basic set up...do a quick scan (satellite/a couple of channels)...then power off,go back and install current bin...once complete @ END switch back button off (do not let it self re-boot)...hook it back up to your TV/dish, start scanning...and you should be good to go...It works for me!...This was the only way I have been able to get out of the re-boot bug.
Let me know how it turned out! GOOD LUCK!
anneclark12 09-07-2007, 05:27 AM Hi People,
Attention guys.. I recently ordered a satellite from the following website.
http://www.extremesats.com
Please guys don’t buy products from this website, As I ordered a satellite 30 days before and I didn’t get the product yet… Thanks to Paypal I got the money back… so people thinking twice and rely on some other website.
Thanks.
