WildBlue Communication's business arm, WildBlue Enterprise Solutions, entered into a partnership with EchoSat Communications Group to supply the internet-via-satellite company's high speed network with EchoSat's Secure Payments Gateway SM (SPG). The SPG solution, according to the companies, provides merchants, retailers and other small businesses with a managed solution for their point of sale (POS), credit card and ATM machines, and other dial-up or serial devices.
Through the agreement, retailers using EchoSat's SPG can integrate their POS, credit card machines and other related equipment to interface with high-speed broadband supplied by WildBlue's Enterprise Solutions. EchoSat's SPG utilizes standards-based encryption technology through WildBlue's internet platform to transmit electronic funds transfers (EFT), credit, debit and electronic benefits transactions (EBT) to specific payment processors.
EchoSat's SPG solution, the company said, allows single or multiple inputs, supports a variety of POS devices, provides dial back-up with automatic rollover, routes transactions to multiple payment processors and is remotely configured and managed by EchoSat.
