There has been a big change in the way that people all over the world are able to view satellite TV. Many satellite TV viewers are turning to a new tool available that allows its users to watch over three thousand channels from around the world through the internet on their PC. This has today's leading satellite providers worried to say the least.

A new software tool just recently hit the internet called Satellite TV For PC. People every where have been complaining that the prices cable and satellite TV providers charge is unfair, but now they have more options. This one small piece of software allows anybody with an internet connection to view over three thousand satellite TV stations from around the world through the internet on their PC.

Satellite TV For PC has taken the way we use the internet to a new level. Ever since the internet became mainstream it has been changing the way we live. At first it was all about email but then came chatting and several other innovations quickly followed. Now in present times we can do everything from making phone calls to ordering pizza and renting a movie over the internet.

With the new innovation of sending a streaming satellite signal through an internet connection any where in the world directly to your PC is exciting. Consumers will soon not have to worry about how much their local cable or satellite provider charges for service. Instead they will literally have a whole world of choices on where to get their television stations from.

Having no physical connection to a satellite or cable line will also be a good benefit. These satellite TV stations are available where ever there is a computer with the software installed that has a working internet connection.

Experts agree that Satellite TV For PC is just the tip of the ice burg. Now that companies as well as consumers know that this technology is available, products like it will be in very high demand. It would not be a shock to see the big name satellite TV providers like Direct TV and Dish Network start offering similar services for you PC in the near future as well.

Terry Brazil, resident satellite specialist at guruofinfo.com has done research as well as written articles on this subject had this to say:

"A software program like what Satellite TV For PC offers is simply just the starting point. The internet has given us tons of great new innovations on the technical front. The ability to do something like this has been available for years but nobody has just never tried to do it. I am sure that many hardware manufacturers are already planning on releasing products to help make watching this new service on their TV's easier for consumers.

Now that technology like this has been proven to work everybody will be wanting a piece of the pie. You can bet your bottom dollar that we will see similar companies and products hitting the market before the end of this year. I believe that the bigger companies like Direct TV and Dish Network will also have to release their versions of this kind of software so they can try to stay competitive in the satellite TV market"

I have it & hate it! Why you ask?
1. The bit about getting "premium" channels iss a farce. You get pre-recorded segments of HBO sometimes. Most times NOT. I have DSL high-speed, so it's not my connection to blame, but MOST of th channels I click on say "buffering, xxx%, then xxx % " then I get a "ready" and that's as far as it goes.
2. It comes bundled with another program called "TV Ants", it lists other users who share their link.
3. MOST IMPORTANT- I posted in another thread where another user got a virus intrusion alert that showed a trojan trying to infiltrate his connection. He attached the "screen print" photos as proof. This supposedly only happens if you're using I.E. as your browser for the connection. As I stated in the other thread, I'm more than willing to list the link abd let those who have doubts make up their own mind. BTW, he spoek with Symantic and the only way the trojan can be removed is a COMPLETE reformat of the hdd.
I'm not BS'ing anyone, nor am I crying "wolf", just go into it with your eyes open.

I dl it and and NOD32 administrator version antivirus showed nothing about a virus ... i scanned the files 3 times and no virus so i dont know what that is about ... use at your own risk , however i see no problems so far ,but i think there are some needed servers for it to get more channels on USA .... the picture quality is good though .. i will post a link to the file in the file section and it has been scanned and free of viruses so no worries there .......

link to the post for dl -

Only with limited high speed connection, Video over IP is just a toy and for fun. At least 10M super DSL connection is needed for such service. Bell Sympatico has the service in Montreal?

Here is the quote from someone who used it:
1. Bill Says:

Far from what is being said, this product is just a search engine for free channels offered on the web. They don’t own the rights to those channels so they have no control over them. Also, the channels don’t include popular channels or movies. Most of it is christian tv or foreign tv samples. Don’t be fooled by the hype.

I have and personally use it and it works fine. You have to be more then just a follower and need everything spoonfed to you. It takes a bit to know the functions and make yourself familar but its a great product for sure.

Also it contains no virus or trojan or whatever. Tell buddy he's smoking crack. Maybe its those questionable porn sites that installed a trojan for him, regardless not all anti viruses like certain extensions of some files and falsely list them as viruses or trojans. Bottom line is if your relatively computer illeterate stick to 102's or FTA but if you like to play, knock your socks off there is going to be endless possibilities with this stuff very soon. Some may recall XTV. If not google it.

By the way, I didn't know anyone used IE (internet explorer) get with the times. Mozilla or Opera for browers boys and girls.

Tried using this on Win2K.

It overwrites some win dlls that make winmedia player 9 stop working. Also it itself dosnt work becaue of that.

Any one tried this on win 2000 and got it to work.

Here is the sequence.

1. install win media plyer9
2. intall the player according to instruction in the zip
3. execute the played you get a wmp.dll problem (it is a win media dll)
so

4. I reisntall the win media 9 it complains about a missing gdiplus.dll
5. I have to uninstall the tv player and then install win media 9 again in order to get win media 9 to work

In short I cant have theem both installed at the same time both dont work.
