what is a Buzz? is that a reciever??? never heard of it???!!!

I got it...its some FTA reciever that apparently according to some sites has some close ties to Mr. V and TDG! and they are apparently Canadian too. The company's # is a 416 area code!!!

But I am still a Viewsat fanboy!

I didn't know about BUZZ fta, so I looked it up and it seems that VS purchased buzz a while back. I also looked up on fleabay and some dude is selling it for $99. Not bad, but don't know about future support...:wacko:

Looks nice but it doesn't have component video out.
Thats whats needed on my HDTV for best picture quality.
Most components are made by sharp electronics.

Actually Pappa just cause you have an HDTV doesn't mean you need to use component cables. Component is really only needed with an HD source (ie. Dish 6000) If you are only using a SD (standard definition) receiver then it really doesn't matter. Use the 'S' video and you will, in my mind will hardly be able to tell the difference. Although component is the top choice for video output you won't notice much of all by using S video. Most SD receivers don't utilize component outputs for that reason. Use component on DVD players and HD receivers. Everything else in SD 'S' video is more then sufficent.

Im still waiting on megasat- guess i'll be waiting a long long time. By the time that bin gets out my megasat will have cobwebs- ha ha

I can't beleive this also - 2 days ago it was Sonicview now it's Buzz - While we have more then 60% of the testers waiting for the Pansat release.

What is going on????

So it means no big progress for other brands and only VS siblings got fix.

Makes a big difference on my HDTV.
Less grain and better overall picture, with no screen lag.

I have a pantec ms and I'm also crossing my finger for a fix soon, but I guess it's just a waiting game now. Right? but I do hope we get one soon, Paying for ppvs is not fun at all.

If so, is it modifed by hooking it up to the computer and writing to it directly or do you still have to program a card of some kind? Can it still get the FTA channels when it is modded to get Dish?

If I'm totally off the mark then sorry. I'm very new here.

Yes, you still get FTA channel when it is modde to get d**h. You don't need card to program except coolsat(temp fix). FTA receiver is alot simple then rom102. But when it down usually you have to wait for the .bin(firmware) release to load to receiver.

they also relaese the PVR bin....right now Viewsat are rockin...I guess is all about business for them. Say dont hate the players hate the game, blacklist....... Is not about Monopoly, is about the money and gettin your people watchin T.V....... Even if is temp.....Cause i dont think there would ever be a stable solution, meaning something that would last a year....Thats bull crap.....There are Sat Comp out there that would try to break the sig...like they have been doin.....but when blacklist comes with the fix and goes out in a month what would be the x-cuse then....So i dont believe in a year fix......Dont get me wrong would be nice if there is one, but i belive in reality and the real world that we live in....thank you
