This is news from Mr V. this morn. VS does have full Maprom. They will prolly help Europe next week with a cardless solution because it doesn't affect their market here. Many have made offers, up to $400k for the solution and were turned down. Expect an ECM targetting plastic as soon as tomorrow, but it is believed the VS cardless fix will be up awhile. if they change MAP routines, Mr.V says it will be short downtime this time as they have everything now. My job is done now, so I won't be posting much in public anymore, but will try to keep you guys up on anything I hear. VS introducing new models still, Ultra is scheduled for October, and a PVR file should come out late tonight or early tomorrow morn. HD before Xmas as well. PVR is here (1000 pieces) and will retail for around $399 without hardrive, $499 with. Look for their website to be updated soon. Viewsat Tv Anywhere will also be added to site as well...that's the latest as I know it or have heard. Thanks for being patient and standing tall thru all the last BS. Much respect to all mods and thanks again.

LOL ...I expect one EVERY DAY. I mean ....they change keys EVERY day ....this is a type of an electronic counter measure. As far as something other than that ...just how would Mr.V know?

I hope MrV is on the" up and up" this time and holds true to his word cause I decided to jump on the Band wagon with Viewsat and ordered myself an Extreme yesterday. I'm sure I won't be disappointed with the receiver or support.
I own a 3500SD and 2500a but am just tired of waiting for a fix for the Pansats.
I still have confidence in Bl and crew to come up with a fix as soon as possible, but would rather be watching more than just locals while we wait for the Pansat and other receiver fixes. At the rate things are going at present, lord knows how long that might be! Thanks MrV for the update.~Stingray75~

I find it ironic how viewsat rejected offers up to $400000. Selling those 1000 receivers for $399 a peice adds up to that alone.

but since they are the only ones with a fix... they can sell A LOT more recievers and make A LOT more money....cause,, all the freetv'rs will be (ahem) testing viewsats now...

LOL, This TDG update sounds like he is almost out of the loop. If you notice he wasn't the first one to release the viewsat fix.. I wonder if captiveworks is hiring..

Mr. VS is not the only one saying that about ECM for cards. A supermod on another site has urged people to pull their cards. Acording to him there is something in the stream that is going right though the blocker.

If you have a b1 open for autoroll your card cn be ECM'ed...
Viewsat bin does not work like a card so can not be looped

Lets see if you know your abc.
This is from a mod:

Strong suggestion to get your plastic out of the stream ASAP. Something not looking right.

This is for people using DN/BEV IRD's only....

FTA users disregard this
Some "things" going right through them as I type this.

If I had to guess, looks like they are finally going after the BO strings. You can easily see that your normal remap is off-kilter, but thats just the beginning IMO.

My next guess is that they will be tagging our tiers, but I already made a post about that a couple days ago here...

Just guessing here, kinda early to tell

this tale has been swarping around the forums for a couple weeks now. it started with the rev 109 that was loaded to sub cards if there is any truth to this at all i would say they are working on a way to force "plastic" users to take the new revision or loose tv. and if they do take it then they will be viewing a black screen soon after. so IMO they are trying to create a damned if you do and damned if you dont scenario. guess time will tell all! good luck to everyone:beer:

Plastic should be the last thing on the list for Charlie.

He's stupid not to take down FTA first.

FTA will just profit from what they do with the Plastic. It doesn't make any sence.

He should want the D**H equipment to be worth more than others.

I don't buy the $400K number.
Margain on each set is probably ~$25 .. $50K on the outside ... way outside.
Means they are giving up ~10K receiver eq... not likely.

It's much easier to reverse engineer VS than DN.
I bet you all the Rx Vendors are in on this .. there is surely revenue sharing going on .. and I don't have any problem with it :-)

I am wondering if BL and Pansat were the ones turned down with the $400,000 offer?
Could be why BL still has not released a bin for any of the Pansats.
Just a thought.

Are you sure of this. Care to show me the disassembly of the code, and explain, so I can understand as well. I am more interested in the "looping" part of the code and the execution.

upon further reading of the above post something starts to come to mind..isnt it funny how just days after a fix is out a post like this emmerges from Vs proclaiming that the plastic users are now the next target. but he just happens to have the cardless fix for his stb also stating that they believe their fix will hold out thru the next counter measure.. does this sound at all to anyone else besides me like a very well organized sales ploy?? and IF VS has the full maprom id say we can expect to see only the parts of the maprom needed to get tv working as the rest of it will be locked away someplace..so yes maybe the fixes for the future cardless solution will be put out quicker than 2 months but in my opinion they will milk every dime out of the the maprom and probably never will release it fully to the public therby making a total full emu solution next to impossible. in fact i would say they will hold tightly to it until it is completely useless and a card swap has been performed
it is really a shame to see this hobby becoming all about making somebody more money when actualy it should be us all united against big business not trying to become it!

They? "They" meaning people who are capable of selling you another FTA receiver, or "they" as in the general concensus of the public?

If you came to my business with a Coolsat problem, I'd try to sell you a new VS. It's capitalism - and if we don't support it, the terrorists win! :D

don't know about all of you but this whole free tv feels like it has one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel, I can see buying the cheapest vs unit but spending 3 to 4 hundred dollars for something that may not be working very soon, ah I just figured it out your suposed to use the pvr and record everything in one night so you'll have something to watch for the months it will be down

Come over here, this way, step right up ...yes sir`eee ....this way ladies. Ladies and gentlemen, there no limit to this creativity. What you are about to view even amazes me, thats right ...this is the difference between a free TV'er and a tester.....:wow:

Don't kid yourself "RM" unless your personally hacking or coding the only testing your doing is turning on your stb and testing if it's still works, like the other 99.999% of us theives I mean "testers" ha ha...

This is where a plastic investment comes in handy. U should test both the plastic and the FTA. That way u ALWAYS have tv to watch. FTA was just an easy way out for peeps that just wanted free tv, it wasnt meant for a true tester. This is why FTA was made 2 be some easy, hehe. Anyways, hope the FTA peeps have their tv back for the big UFC fight this coming weekend (cough cough).......=-)

Nah, we cant pull our plastic, no matter how forwarned we are. We are testers and we live to watch our tv. Just like the old H days and the HU days. We'll test til they issue us new cards, haha. Plus, IF u cant afford to loose a few cards, then u definately need a new hobby. Testing is all about taking chances. So IF Charlie thinks he can loop the 102 or whatever, then tell him to BRING IT ON. I'll gladly give him the oppertunity to prove himself.......=-)
