"IKS" is another term for 'card sharing' , anyone checking this out should search the card sharing threads first so they know the risks going in, then decide. personally I'd get a coolsat/card setup before risking card sharing, if you're gonna spend more money might as well go for safe.

nothing is safe, you are right.

I think that is safer than buying a rom102, if you remember, this is how DTV sued 10.000 people in the US.

so, if you want to be safe, do not buy anything where they take your info.

if you can not find a rom102 and pick it up and pay cash, do not buy it

It depends who you buy your plastic from and I wouldn't be so sure that card sharing or in this case internet key sharing is any safer and in fact could be one of the unsafest ways to go.

I would agree be cautious no matter what you do, it could cost you big time. There's a saying 'when you're being chased by lions you don't have to be the fastest guy, just not the slowest'. be smarter and more careful then someone else so you're not the slowest guy

Thats not how dave sued 10,000. Dave sued because people bought programmers that pretty much only had one use and that was to glitch hu cards. I don't know of any case where someone got sued for buying a card. The whole case was based on the loader they bought. Don't turn facts around to scare people.

You think wrong. If one is as paranoid as implied by your last statement they wouldn't use card sharing over a public network. With the 102 purchase you take a risk on one transaction. With the card sharing you take a risk for every 8 seconds or so you watch TV. And with your own 102 you don't go down when the card sharing server goes down.

My intention was never to create a battle between IKS, ROM102 or any of the other methods of testing.

My pledge was to this site, if they can create a section for Neosat receivers.
So people like me, owners, can discuss and help each others.

I am not defending Neosat way of doing things, and bashing others solutions.

I am just another tester like you guys, proud owner of a Coolsat 5000 also.

I just do not understand this war that is being created.

Risks, can be measured, can be analyzed, If we have open discussion, we can all try to help people to have informed decisions.

I think Neosat Team is being straight about how their method works, is everyone decision if you are willing to do it their way or not.

Again, please the Mods, open an area for Neosat, I am not form their team, or either I sale receivers.

Thanks for your time.

I don't see a battle. Just a discussion of the merits and safety of the two solutions, and the correction of some misinformation.

flabat i see you are at it again, give it a rest, you opened another thread and keep trying to jam neosat down our throats, go to neosats site or sites like it if you want a section for your receiver, stop beating a dead horse, either try to help out members on here with fta or anything else but the same propeganda you are spouting you say you have a coolsat try posting anything that will help coolsat owners

If you are trying to promote the Neosat Team, you and your Neosat Team should know the the drill, contact Web site's Admin CHIP,to be came a site sponsor.

As for what I understand, that Neosat receiver using the Internet server to share the key right?

There was a concered & warning about card-sharing server

Today, an alarming thing happened that threatened both of our goals. With the release of a PUBLIC card-sharing service, the developers of the third-party CaptiveWorks firmware not only put that company in danger, but also the potentially thousands of users that may have connected to their card-sharing server, were the server logs to be seized. Furthermore, their strongly publicized release of card-sharing functionality, when combined with the aforementioned fact that they created a public server, may have attracted undue attention to the FTA community.

Hi I've been reading this post to see where it will lead.
This is what I have to say about this receiver. if your card sharing or "iks" your playing with fire. First of all they will shut this thing down faster then you can click your remote on button. Second if you trying to hide under an ip add blocker this will not work, and you risk getting busted. Wait for a cardless fix if it ever comes. If not something else will come out, stay away from anything that has to do with your ip add even if your hiding under the best Ip blockers out there.
