Hey,fellow DBs.I've had a 7020s for app.1 yr.now,so i've learned a few things,but now i want to start tearing out what little hair i have left and learn the card system. I have now got myself an opened ROM102,now all i need is the knowledge to be able to get them to work together, ie,programming the card. The only hdwr i have right now is an ISO cardreader.So, can anybody give me a push in the right direction,as to anything i else i need to make this a good marriage? Thx.

um -- no he wont.

a programmed 102 card can be used for cardsharing with the DBs

your choice is -- whether to run the card in your iso programmer and use your PC as a server....and then your DB as a client ... or to put the card in your DB, and 'serve' it to yourself.

look for information on 'newcs', to learn how to configure either of the set ups

Serving yourself has been somewhat of a challenge, supposidly NitroII and DSM w/evo2.11 and newcs1.7 will work with the card in the box. altho keep in mind DSM1.3 my panel update has been disabled by the manufacturer I think, you must edit some file like keylist.txt in your var folders and merge evo2.11/newcs1.7 together, edit newcs1.7 in var/tux/config to enter your boxkeys from your 3M among other things, Ive been working on it for a week and still dont have it, Amy has come out with a Gimini3.0cs for client/server but so far just as difficult using the card in the box. im still working on it ,ill let you know

Hey,well,in the last 10 days i am making progress,i had a hell of a time with the dt08 sig check returned=0.I believe this is tied in with boxkeys? But at least now i get that elusive,=01.Right now i can get telnet to start scrolling,but i get a few error msgs.#1.[camd] too short message received.#2[camd] unknown resource manager,application info or ca support command.#3 CA_SET_PID:Bad file descriptor.#4 [camd] try decoding.Does anyone want to make a stab at what i'm screwing up here?Thx. BTW,Davenbocafl,i think we've been following each other around on all these forums.LOL.Also i have been trying to give Gemini 3.0 a go as well & i agree that there is no var/bin,just usr/var/bin.Does that mean the directory has to be created or ?.

yea I think your right, Ive spent more hours on the computer this week then I have all year, I use to think I was pretty good at this, boy was I fooled.
I think the dt08 shows the box is accually looking at the card, thats more then i got, I got mine to scroll but cant merge evo & newcs.keep me updated and ill do the same, ill be here for about the next 6 hours working on it

is it worth getting a card now with all the changes going on.
