As of this morning, I was surprised to see 45 channels available on AMC 15 ( 105 W) . These are all local channels have some good programming. You'll need a linear LNB .

Va, and Va towns. http://www.dishchannelchart.com/ :) pappapump 07-15-2006, 08:17 PM See what I mean, this stuff just gets better and better. The real trick is getting your 90cm dish set as perfect as possible and getting ALL the rogue birds. Then you get a load of surprise channels you didn't know were there. Like the re-feeds of premium channels. These guys are hard to find but basically they just run their station like everybody else, then they start playing movies you can find on HBO etc. More channels are being added lately, which is why its a good idea to keep a current blind scan of what you watch. But listen guys one thing you need to remember with blind scan is, dont delete what you dont watch just keep it in the list so you can keep it skipped. That way you dont have to edit your channels every time you scan. swampman 07-18-2006, 07:58 AM But listen guys one thing you need to remember with blind scan is, dont delete what you dont watch just keep it in the list so you can keep it skipped. I figured all I needed to do was scan the particular sat ( i.e. G10R) and that scan would include the ku tp's. Any info is appreciated. shortcipher 07-18-2006, 08:33 AM Question... someone mentioned to me that I can scan a certain tp. Not sure what that means, maybe he mispoke. I think doing a tp scan tells the reciever to scan just a single tp, and not the whole entire range of what's coming from your sat. Because channels can be added and subtracted by the sat provider, you may not notice an added channel if you dont re-scan, however you may notice a missing channel. I think, but I,m not entirely sure, that doing a "blind scan" is broader than doing a tp scan, but takes longer. Also, I figured that my pansat reciever doesnt really know the name of the sat I'm pointed at, even though it has a list of sats, it really only knows signal strength, and that I could tell what sat I had by the channels it found. But I'm a newbie too so I may not be entirely correct! Good luck man! sarb 07-18-2006, 10:06 AM but are all of the channels open on amc16. because on lynsat site it says most areon niagra2 http://www.lyngsat.com/packages/dish119.html. specially if you can confirm if american desi is working or not. aussieboy 07-30-2006, 02:50 PM "I think, but I,m not entirely sure, that doing a "blind scan" is broader than doing a tp scan, but takes longer. " The Blind Scan ( or Powerscan ) on my Fortec Classic NA has 166 steps . It scans for active transponders at 6 MHZ increments ( 6 MHZ is the standard bandwidth of a TV channel on broadband , incidentally ) from 11700 to 12200 MHZ ( the entire Ku band ) at both vertical and horizontal polarities. A Powerscan on this Classic is good for 10 minutes or so, but it's a treat to watch it ( after grabbing a beer ) and learn a little about the various things going on ! The latest scan yielded 38 channels. :-) paps21 07-30-2006, 05:08 PM Did you had to reset you Ariza xtreme to the orignal factory bin nozkt4u 07-30-2006, 06:25 PM No matter what knid of FTA you have you will have to install the factory bin. aussieboy 07-31-2006, 02:11 AM "Did you had to reset you Ariza xtreme to the orignal factory bin" Actually no. I'm using both the Xtreme and the Fortec Lifetime Classic NA using their latest bin file. At one point 2 weeks ago I did load the factory bin into the Xtreme, but found no advantage . At the time, I was trying to find a "blind scan" feature on that STB, but now I've pretty much decided that it doesn't have a blind scan. That decision prompted me to get a Fortec STB, all of which have a powerscan . Screamin-D 08-01-2006, 07:23 AM Does anyone know if there are still channels available on AMC15 as mentioned by brentb636? And does the LNB have to be an Invacom (as mentioned by holysmoke) or can any linear LNB work (I currently have a Fortec Quad linear LNB on my 33" dish pointed at 121)? Thanks. aussieboy 08-01-2006, 07:30 AM Channels on AMC15 were still working this morning. A linear LNB set at 10750 should be the ticket. Good luck ! Screamin-D 08-01-2006, 07:38 AM Thanks brentb636. |
