What are your thoughts on this model? I know some were having problems with it when it first came out but I am thinking about buying one. Will it survive the future of sat tv?

Will it survive the future of sat tv? csgolfers 07-15-2006, 05:24 AM I am testing a Pansat 6000HXC and a Pansat 2700A. I prefer the 2700A for picture and audio. The 6000 has frequent freezes in the video and an occasional popping noise. I believe both of these problems could be solved in a new bin but it is hard to tell when they will be addressed since most new bins have to address descrambling. The 6000 is much easier to change bins on and the recording feature is nice, although it is a bit tricky. It is easier to delete channels on the 2700. If I had to make the decision again, I would opt for a separate recording device instead of a combined FTA and Recorder. It would be a little more trouble to set up to record but at least it could be used when testing is down. That being said, I think the 6000HXC will probably be able to handle upcoming changes if any STB can. If not, at least you get a 40 GIG drive that you can use as an extra storage device for your computer. showhorse 07-15-2006, 06:57 AM what was just told to you is the gosple.........this unit was put out to sell only ......never got the support it needed and still hasnt........recording not easy infact lots of problems .......not as good a unit as the 2500a pansat ..........i am sure that you should pick one up cheap if you want one ...sure wouldnt give over 150 for one .............best to you friend .......never again on the 6000hxc upallnight 07-16-2006, 05:07 AM Ok thanks. I'll probably try other means of recording programs other than using the 6000. I'm testing a 2700 now but I want to upgrade for the next one because I want to have it in a different room. I probably go with a 3500. Thanks for the info!! Mas 07-16-2006, 11:38 AM With NO FIX release to any FTA receiver, I would suggest you to hold on to your $$$$$, until later on. |
