kentpye 07-09-2006, 11:45 AM Sounds great, I have been waiting for dual tuner HD and pvr capability for awhile. Also those dual card slots could come in handy.
acs33 07-09-2006, 12:28 PM looks like the one i have been waiting for
beehive21 07-09-2006, 12:36 PM Oh yeah, that looks like one sexy beast...might be my next box, if I don't go to plastic that is :D
Chemdawg 07-10-2006, 12:55 PM Read this post that I made a little bit ago on my thoughts of this.

The Dreambox's have been getting better and better. The 7000 gave us PVR capabilities. Then the 7020 came out with the stonger tuner. Then the 7025 with the dual tuner option so you can record one show and watch another. Very cool. Now the 8000 is going to step up a bit with the built in DVD, dual tuner, and HD capabilities. I love the ideas, but I'm almost afraid this technology is taking away from the real thing at hand. TESTING. When your trying to test out sats, and your trying to figure out coding, etc. All the features in these boxes get in the way.
Kinda like playing the guitar. When your trying to learn, you don't want to go out and buy this big cool guitar, amp, and all these efects. You lose sight of the actual task. Learn the instrument. Well, FTA is the same way. If you really want to learn what it's about, take baby steps. I'm sure some of you are already doing that, so the 8000 may be the way to go. But do some reasearch before you buy.
Hope this helps some people here.

I'm on my way to this very same thing. However I'm going to use my 7000. I want to broaden my knowledge base, so I am studying up on all the card sharing right now. I have a pretty good base started now, so anyone wants to know anything on plastic for the Dreambox, please feel free to ask.

I plan to buy DB7020 or 7025. I interested on DVR features & card-slot. I tried to read as much posts as i can before buying the receiver. I found out there is not much support or information for dreambox.
Here is my question: Do I need download any firmwares to DB for using rom102-NoRSA? Like changing boxkey# and IRD#. Could you write a simple Howto? I believe a lot of peoples need it.
Thanks

I've been successful at making a dreambox 7020 to work with plastic but I
can't seem to figure out how to get a 500 working by using the card on the 7020 with networking.
I've got newcs+evocamd on the 7020 and have been trying to connect to it using newcamd 6.08. I think i'm on the right track, have tried many things, but can't get it going...has anyone been successful?
