Can you please explain to me how this will work? How can I get Tivo to work with Viewsat? Didn't know it was possible.

This question is totally irrelevent to this thread. It is considered as hijacking the thread. I don't want to see you get nailed by someone for posting this, especially being your first post. What you need to do is go to the main page http://forums.dsstester.com/vbb/index.php. Look up your particular receiver and post appropiately. That is also where you would find any new files. Please do not respond to this post. Just go to the main page and look around, because your answer will be there.

This archive contains two files which deal with IR remote control of the

ViewSat VS2000 FTA receiver.



KM_1994_ViewSatVS2000.txt is a JP1 device upgrade file to be used with the

Keymap Master spreadsheet. It is configured for the Radio Shack 15-1994 remote

but can be adapted to work with any JP1 compatible remote. Please refer to the

JP1 group on Yahoo for information on how to use this file.



ViewSatVS2000.tcl is a TiVo script file for adding ViewSat channel changing

capability to any TiVo. It is configured to update the PrimeStar 10004 code

set, replacing the IR codes with ViewSat compatible codes. It is currently

untested (my TiVo is in the shop). Installation information appears below.



1) You'll need shell access to your TiVo. Many sites on the web explain how

to set this up.



2) Transfer the ViewSatVS2000.tcl file to your TiVo /var/hack directory.



3) Telnet into the TiVo and enter the following commands:



cd /var/hack/

tivosh

source ViewSatVS2000.tcl

loadcodes



4) When the script finishes, ctrl+C out and wait for the reboot.





This puts the IR codes into the database under the PrimeStar remote control

settings. (You probably have your TiVO currently set to use DishNetwork or

Echostar settings. This will need to be changed to PrimeStar).

Cable/Satellite Box

Satellite Box Setup

Infrared



Now select Primestar and the 10004 codeset (try 10004-Fast first and change to

medium or slow if you have any problems).
