Lets start this so maybe we can help each other get our Pvrs running with Rom 10,102 or Atmega. DP510 seem to be the harder ones to do because you have Vmod them. So everyone post on how you got your Pvrs going.

PVR 501/508 is simple if you use the 1864-2028 IRD BK's you can use a rom 10/101/102 ATmega.ATmega's does freeze from time to time,No big deal.To remarry HD for 501/508 use tsop P063 with a VIRGIN Eeprom (A MUST).
Also use a rom10 with same IRD BK's

If you really want to have a Kick Butt PVR use a 501/508 with a maxtor 120 GB HD Model 4R120L0.This is the HD from a 510 so keep in mind that you will have to use the tsop P079. You will then have 100hrs and 11 min
When you remarry or upgrade to a 510 you need a rom102 card

got a refurbub 501,,uesd orig flash and changed ird num and boxkeys to the public 101-102 fix,,i now have it working with rom 10,,also tried atmega no rsa in it with same nums,,and it works great.

Streaming is not needed just to marry, simply load a virgin flash and eeprom file, put power to it, let it sit a few mins. Typically on a 501, the light will stay off a few seconds while marrying, then when the light comes on, it's married.
A 510 will typically have the light come on, then go off and come back on when married.
That's just to marry the hard drive to the numbers you want to test with. The receiver may or may not work, but the hard drive will be married, then you can load another flash to update or whatever.

u need to keep the first 3 letters matching....despite what others say....This is proper way....so look at white sticker on board and find virgin tsop with first 3 letters the same....tsop always ends in "A"...... the main board sticker is (serial eeprom) and should end with any of these B,C,D,J,V

After Doing the Hard Drive Per Instructions, and Doing a jtag and vid mod on my 510, all I get in jtag is ,

After Errasing and writing the same TSOP,s the light will not come on, and I get a hard drive error, where can I get the Version TSOP you Talking about?

On a 510 you need to use P080 virgin tosps. I'm thinking boot strap is the main problem when doing these IRD's. Looking for info now, and one more thing when using Flash Edit you got to remember you have 2 options move bootstrap, move ird info. Need find more info on this also. use" move ird info",don't think the hard drive will marry if you use "move bootstrap".

Just finish my Re-Marry of HD after one month of trial & error. I read lots of threads in various forums. The instructions are every where.

This is from Experience:(Mine is PVR508)

1) The Virgin Flash is a Must. There are many version of P80 & P75 out there, I finally found one that works.

2) Always Virginize your EEProm & Erase Flash1 -- since Flash1 will be copied over from Flash2 -- doesn't matter at what version.

3) VIRGIN ROM is not needed. Just need a matching IRD & BoxKey

4) Open the TSOP in HEXEdit & compare -- depending on how you open it in Flash Edit (Move IRD or BootStrap), it will change the portion of the TSOP accordingly. I used neither -- I changed the TSOP I downloaded to the correct BK & IRD# using GenDT08.

Yes if you do a update with a RSA mod on it you will lose it. There a lot of no mod files here to use.

Has anyone seen no rsa scripts that have the same keys as rsa scripts? My 508 is still running a rsa mod since I don't feel like remarrying my HD. I have looked around but never find any that match. Thanks.

go with no rsa mod with same cam id and you should be good.

OK I got my 501 PVR running finally! It seems the original mod RSA BK & ID's will not work in the 501 with the new update P308. If there is anyone out there that is still having a problem with their 501 I have posted a step by step with the files here

I am a little confused, why so many people use RSA keys on a 501, when you could just use a 101 or 102 card and marry it to the receiver, and use your own information. Even with a non RSA mod, everyone is sharing public informaion box keys etc. Isn't it best to use SK key, because this is really what 501,508, and 510's use. (makes the receiver look more ligit, closer to a sub). Any info would be apprecitated. :unsure:

The reason we were using RSA keys is that when the ROM102 to 10 spoof was released there was very limited software available for the ROM102. The RSA mod was simple & used ROM10 which many of us still have. Once the HD is married to the IRD most people dont want to mess with it for a variety of reasons. Hope that answers your question. First off, you should have started a new thread, probably in the hardware area, as this is advanced discussion.

Second, you will need a rom 102 now. You will need to Jtag the unit to change the ird info and box keys to match that of your fix.
You will also have to deal with Virgin TSOPS, and re-marrying the hard drive.

Do as much reading as possible before you get into these boxes, otherwise you may end up with a door stop. They are easy to do, but you have to read up on it and be patient. It has taken me 20 to 30 minutes to marry a HD, I usually just walk away and do something else otherwise it looks as if nothing is happening.

First no CAPS, did you put a jumper on OJ1 that may help to get back in. Did you write a virgin eeprom to it?
