Im hitting 5 birds 100/119 mostly
My channels are not correct
I have 5 of every channel i.e. channel 353 appears 5 times in my channel list. Duplicate channels..One from each bird I hit

Q) Is there a way to auto remove dup channels?



The channels are not labled correctly.

Q) Is there a way to auto fix the labels on the channels or do I have to edit each channel and rename them.

It seems I spend more time flipping through mislabled channels then I do watching. kind of annoying really.

I have the 2 channel editors.. Do I pull the channel list from the coolsat... edit them and dump them back into the coolsat?

what method did you use to scan ? im assuming you have no channel list added besides what you scanned ?
you can load to channel master and delete duplicates or manually delete via coolsat. the reason you get the duplicates is because you most likley did not choose v / h transponders when scanning. the prefered way to scan is auto scan with netword search on

no channel list added. that is correct. I don't know where to get a list at.

I just set up my sats.. any that I could get a signal from
77w echo4
107.3w anik f1
110 w echo6, 8
119 w echo7
121 w echo9
131w amc 11/c
148w echo 1, 2

and hit autoscan with network search on.

Got 800 some channels but all mislabled and dups.
Lot of Spanish crap too... maybe I should remove some sats.

Hey there,

Ok, first. Download Channel Master and install it. You can find it on the main page on the bottom in the blue area..Free To Air Files, Channel Lists/Tools. In there, you will also find Channel Lists. I have a Master Channel list for DishPro and for Legacy LNB's (110, 119) as well as Templates that you can apply to YOUR channels whenever you do a scan.

Now...onto the problem with what exactly you're hitting. If you're getting mostly Canadian programming, I have to question what you're pointing at. Go to www.lyngsat.com and look up the birds you listed for us. Check there to see what channels you SHOULD be getting. If the channels lyngsat says are NOT what you're getting...you're pointed at something different.

As to Charlie, and 110 / 119. Before doing a scan, make sure you have bin 1.19 up, and you did the system reset. Then go to options and turn everything ON. If you have a channel list ( recommended ) on your unit, and THEN to an Autoscan with network AFTER selecting your satellites on the left side...it will auto-update the transponders on your channel list.

when you have the settings screen up ( top right will tell you what bird you locked on to ) so lets say you think your on 119 top rite may say something different and is accurate

When I get back on the roof do I try and hit 110 or 119 first... I assume due to the angle of the LNB's when i hit one the other theoretically should be in line but is there one that is easier to hit than the other?

Yes that was more of a shocker than funny... I saw more than I wanted to.

That's a good question. I usually try to hit 110 first, adjust for quality, THEN swing over to 119. I use a high end meter though, which makes it easier. But I go for 110 first.
