Try using an older bin, first pull your keys and channel list off though.

Make sure you got the 4000 bin and not the 5000 bin. Can sause problems. And that might be what you did.

You can't put a CS4K bin onto a CS5K or vice versa. The software does not allow it and gives you an error message when you try.

I heard that it will let you do it. I personally haven't. But I know that everybody warns not to, so you must be able to some how.

You can't. With the amount of programming of CS4K's and CS5K's that I do, I've accidentally hit the wrong bin file before. The loader gives you the error message. Try it and you'll see. The warnings are more rhetoric than impending disaster to TEACH those beginning testers to pay attention to what they're downloading and loading onto their respective boxes. To make sure, I even did this tonight for shits and giggles and low and behold, there's the error message:

Incompatible Model

You cannot load a CS4K bin file onto a CS5K by "ACCIDENT".

I tried everything but a FORCE LOAD and each time it gave the same error message.

The lesson here is to pay attention to what you're downloading and loading on your receiver...AND...not to go by just HEARSAY.

Testing is as testing does Forrest Gump would say.

I learned about the failsafe in the proloader by accident, then read back EVERY post about the accidental CS4K load onto a CS5K stb. Noone ever even tried it, it was just assumed it was possible.

We know about that whole...never "assume" thing. LOL

But beer's on me anyways! Well...once you're able to drink dammit! LOL

Hey I'm just going on what I have heard. I believe you. Me personaly haven't messed up and got the error message. Plus I have only loaded up one 4k. But I have done plenty of 5k's. I working my way around to get all of them up to date with the new 119. :o Oh by the way why didn't you try the force upload? Skeered?:)

LOL hells yeah. This is how I make my living. If I lose a unit that's unrecoverable, do to my own error, I eat it. If I have to move 20 5K's a week, I can't take a chance on wrecking one that is scheduled out for someone lol. Besides, if I did one of the ones in MY house...and ruined it...my wife would KILL me! LOL

What I did was backup the channels to computer, reset the box, load the old bin (118) to the box (118 is still working), then the new bin (119), then upload the channels, turn off the box, disconnect the DB9 cable, connect to TV, turn on box and watch TV. I know it's time-consuming, but it worked for me. Good luck!

use channel master ! check out the fta section under tools and utilities,
you hook up your box to your p.c. / lappy run channel master and load channels off your box , it enables you to manupiulate what ever you want !!

GOOD STUFF !!!

After manipulating the channel list and putting it back down on your coolsat, do an autoscan with network after making sure everything in options is set to ON.

Then, just for shits and giggles, reach behind your unit, use the switch in the back, turn it off, then on again.

Let us know what happens.
