All,

I finally went legit (well sorta) when I moved. I now have a DISH 500 dual LNB on my roof. When I try to use my FTA using that dish I get poor channels. I get many that are no signal but I get the same channel in great on my legit DVR IRD. My question is with the Dish 500 do I need to install my Switch? If not what do I set my DISEc setting to in the menu , off? I have an Ariza 700 if that helps

Dish 500 is for DN not for FTA Now check for sw-34.You need DiSEqC 4x1 switch for your FTA.

I have a dish 500 on my viewsat and ariza. So you can use it for FTA. here is what u need to do.

1st run a cable right from your 110 to your ariza (no switches).
2nd make sure you have a good signal and scan your channels.
3rd move the cable to your 119 lnb and do the same.
4th if both birds have good signal and scanned all the channels
5th put in your 4x1 switch less then 50 feet away from your ariza.
6th hook up 110 lnb check your setting and make sure you have channels
7th hook up your 119 lnb and do the same.
8th go watch TV

hope this helps
