i have a fortec classic na, loaded july bin from the files section, all is well, autoroll works great and channels came in no problem when i did a scan.
my only question is today when i turned on tv it updated code and i have a block of channels that make clicking sound and the screen goes scambled any idea what's happening? all the rest of the channels are working great, maybe just have to wait for this block of channels to update?

once again this site rocks this is my first post i have spent a lot of time in the shadows reading and learning and have found all i needed except this small issue.

thanks in advance

I didnt even know the july bin can autoroll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can u elaborate on which provider its rolling???

I am currently running the jan 6th 2006 bin and it supposed to have autoroll for both providers ... 1 major north of border and 1 major south of border

beverly seems to be rolling perfectly but then all of a sudden will load the wrong keys ....i found that if i change the keys to any random combination itll roll them to the right keys...

diknet dosent seem to roll at all but if i punch in the keys all chans work...

WE NEED A CODER TO FIX THE BINS!!!

My Classic NA rolls both okay, just slow, takes 4-7 minutes.
Haven't noticed any problems here.

Might could "Set Default" keys and see if it clears up the problem.

11jan06, but autoroll is no longer working.
Have to manually update the keys now to keep it going.

Since this is a Fortec, it will probably be weeks instead of days before any fix comes. Use to take weeks or months for a fix and then nothing until this Classic NA. This is the wrong product for any good support.

Well I think the bin is going on us and there no fix as of yet so maybe we have the wrong product for support or maybe its not as popular as the others :)

Fortec Lifetime and Ultras were the most popular receivers of all at one time.
Then they dropped all North America support for them. That's why Fortecs are not so popular and avoided (even boycotted) by many North American users.

But even it its heyday, releases were slow and lagged farther and farther behind the competition. I don't expect much has changed regarding this.

The bins previously worked fine....and if someone would invest alittle time it would be worth it...this receiver has a better epg than any pantec ive seen when it was working....technologically i preffer the classic na...but support wise it freken stinks hardcore

who is coding theses bins??? what language are they coded in....if any1 steersme into right direction i can be THE support :D

Just FYI, autoroll started working again. Last one took 15 minutes for mine to change the keys. Don't need to do anything to the box. DN & B3v must have reverted back to previous autoroll methods. I expect they might keep this flip flopping around until coders find a final fix.

As far as I know, no one will release the source code for any of these fixes. And have yet to see confirmed where these Classic NA bins come from. They just seem to pop up on the al7bar-soft1 site...which is mostly dead and any questions left unanswered.

I was reading up on this jan 2006 bin and your right apparently it works fine now....ive tested it and its true...

The reason behind that is that northern provider started using a different algorithm for its key changes but their own receivers werent capable of keeping up with the changes and ended up screwing themselves....

Go Canada!!
