3 days ago I didn't even know FTA existed or anything about satellite, and now having read and read all the great posts on here I feel the need to put myself to the test and set up a FTA system! :D

I have a dish pro with quad lnb, it is now working with a PCI DVB card my friend set up. I found posts on here saying that my LNB will work fine:

QUOTE=bodog]I'm running 3 DN sub receivers and one pansat 3500s on a DishPro Quad LNB, Dish 500.

You don't have to add a Diseqc switch, but you need to get the LNB settings correct. I'm set on Diseqc #1 for 119 and Diseqc #2 for 110.[/QUOTE]

Q1: Please confirm this is all I need to do, and is this something I just have to configure in the menu of the FTA reciever?

Q2: Also, can you guys recommend either the Coolsat 5000 or Pansat 3500s? Does it matter as far as compatibility/EPG/response/etc? I think they are pretty close as far as I can tell, but I would rather take the opinion of someone with more then 3 DAYS experience in this field! :p
