I have a Coolsat 5000 with a Dish 500 with a DP quad lnb. At first I thought it was a Legacy quad but with that setup could only pick up the odd tps. After searching the forum for answers I have verified it is a dp quad lnb. I have tried several setup's to get it working. To get it to work I had to go stright to the receiver without the switch. I have the LNB power on, type OCS-DP, frequence 11.250, 22khz switch off, switch 1.0/1.1, 119 commited to 1 and 110 to 2. Is this the correct or best setup? I have a old bud with a c and ku setup I was going to hook up with it to pick up more. If this is the correct setup the only way I can see doing it is with a 22 khz switch and leave the diseqc out. Thanks for any help.

your wording is fine , but still not sure what your asking ??
if you have the pro lnb , your good to go as stated , you should have both 119 and 110 ? no switch (diseqc or 22 khz )needed with a dishpro twin or quad lnbs.
you are lucky to have a bud to play with though and i would love to have one.
does the motor and lnbs still work ? is this a working bud setup ?? you lucky son a XXXX !!!:)

Yes it is a working bud. I've had the same dish for about 20 years and 4 or 4 different receivers. I can still watch back feeds, anything in the clear, and a few others. The jack motor still works, just have to tune it in every now and then. It has both c and ku lnb's. What I would like to do is set the Coolsat up to work with it also. Since it does not look like the dp pro will work with the diseqc switch and is not needed will a 22 khz switch work with the dp lnb and the bud lnb's. I think I would need to set it up for the 22 k switch to be off for the dp and on for the bud. Is this correct or am I overlooking something?

bro , i have very limmited knowledge of the workings of a bud dish, but i believe the 22 khz is the way to go.when you hook this up , that makes you like "king"
that is very neat and would love to just surf your channels , i mean i bet you could fill up the memory real quick with that antenna.
please keep us informed what you do with this project, makes my hand wet just thinking about this post LOL

good luck and thanks:yes:

The early buds lnb did not use a block downconverter, just one channel at a time. Could not use a second dish. With the block it put out all channels from one polarity. You could use a second dish but they had to watch from the same polarity that the main dish was watching. Snow buildup will cut your signal and weight down the dish. Some of the early ones had too big of holes in the screens to allow you to get KU when it came out. It was good in its day but cost a lot to get started.
