Here are some information on how to use your basic signal meter to find your satellits.

Allways have your receiver turned off, then connect cable lead from the lnb to the lnb side of your signal meter, then connect the cable from the receiver to the rec side of your signal meter, and then turn your receiver on, and turn the signal meter knob all the way to the right. The meter should read about 4-5.

Set the elevation of the dish to the proper elevation. Now use a compass to get the correct azimuth, then you rotate the dish untill the signal meter gets to about 10, then turn your meter knob to the left untill it reads about 4-5.

Now to peak the signal in move the dish east to west untill you get the strongest signal you can get. Prefer you to get 9-10.

Well this should cover everything, but if it doesn't and some one has any additional information please feel free to add to it.

Good luck
Take care

I bought one of the cheap analog signal finders myself and after hooking it up it worked great.

Just make sure that you always turn down the meter til the beep is gone then tune in the sat til u hear it again then turn it down again and tune til you hear the beep again. This zero's in the sat pretty fast even with the cheap model I bought. If you are having problems getting both sats zeroed in try using an old rag to cover up the other lnb while you dial the other sat in, works great.

Does anyone know how to calibrate a spacelab sat finder. maybe its accurate already who knows. it never matches the percent of the coolsat quality bar though. i get around 50 % on the sat finder and like 97% on the dish setting signal quality meter from my ird.

I've used one and had no problems with my circular LNBs - found the satellites in seconds..

BUT .. trying to find using a linear LNB - no luck - just connecting the thing set it off squealing without even mounting the dish!

any tips on how to use it with a linear? I have the cheapy SF-95 I think
