I am highly considering buying the Orasat. I have the Coolsat 5000 and to me it's the best unit around. Can anyone convince me why i should buy the Orasat? Also i'm in Canada, so it has to be able pick up BEV. Thanks

i won't walk into the trap:lol: to convince you about orasat. when i put my pansat 2700A, coolsat 5000, and orasat v5 on table, the one i picked and love is orasat, the best picture quality and now with current auto-roll for both us and canada, every thing is:hat:
if you want one, it's still time before it's publicly know about it's new feature:wow:

I put 120 on and it appears to work fine but I lost favorites. They are still there [nothing visable but blue screen of death] but the blue favorite button when pushed doesn't produce anything but the screen freezes there and have to cut off and on to get back to programing[exit doesn't work]. The Guide does the same thing. Have u had any other reports about that. If not I will put the bin back on and try again.

Pat I discovered that when it freezes up you can scan just one trandsponder and then it gives all the 1700 listings. Still not favorites to work with. If you click on favorites then you have to reboot and then scan a transponder. then you have the whole list again. I tried to do a favorite 2 but that didn't work either. This one gets B91 so it is getting right. I also had to take out all my timers that were on the ones that don't work anymore because of the channel changes. I have about 1700 channels now and the first 800 don't work anymore. I would like to clear them all out and rescan. I have never been able to get a channel list to work and most that I see are not for my area. Without the timers that were not working I am not having to reset with off and on as much. B91 and the autoroll looking good. The gurus are getting it right. It will all come together but this favorite thing must be addressed soon.

you are right about the favorite function on this; it works but just only on favorite 1 and only able to use channel up/down. there is an work around for this til new update release on early february. use the old working channels list:p , i like the old channels list than the new one:lol: , you know, i am old fashion guy:lol: :beer:

Favorite one don't work for me. I can up and down in the blank screen but it don't tell me where I am going. It was from the old favorite 1 but new one ain't there to look at. Only the whole list of channels is available. Those that were dead on the initial scan and those whose channels were changed by D--- are still there. If I get into favorite 1 - the only way out is the reboot deal otherwise you can't get rid of the blue screen of death.

Set to factory default and rescan all the satellites you want.
The old channels list is conflicting with the new BIN 1.20
New channels list will post in two days.

I would if I could figutre out how. The digiwave 7000 I am testing has that function but I can't find the way with Orasat.
I had a manual on sat editor. it was sateditor manual.doc. It got corrupted and I can't find where to get anther. Maybe there is a feature in Sat Editor that will let me erase the whole 1700 so I could start over.

>press ok, enter 0000
>scroll down to fatory set, press ok, press ok
now you can do your lnb configurations and have a fresh channels lining up, did i help?:beer:

Yes that is great Prob in the manual but I can't find it at this time. What I did was delete the first 560 that didn't work and then went in and deleted the ones I did't want like NHL etc. Still working on it. Prob I had with sateditor was the screen size. I couldn't get to the bottom of the choices to download so had to resize my laptop screen to see the options. I brought up sateditor on one of my other 6 computers that had large screen and saw the options. I will cut and paste your message to the text file that I have been compiling for my info. Thanks Pat. use with the mouse pointer on the top of sateditor, you can shrink it to fit on your monitor; it's likely they are working on a new and better sateditor to accommodate the new coding of autoroll( i forgot to ask:p )that avitar is actually a she- very big for her age, she is my lady's niece. my oldest daughter forced me to put her on, now she is every where ....is a trade mark:D

Very attrictive girl. I have my first grandson that is 1 year 2 months old. Getting him for a week starting this friday. He is a cool troop. I used the move function and have the first 47 entries what I watch 90% of the time. Still a work in progress but makes it easy to get them without having favorites.

This is my first post, and I'm new on this. Hope someone can help me, thank in advance. I have Dish Network 500 and an Orasat 5 box loaded with the 1.2 image. I can see all channels from Echostar 7 without problems, and that's good; but the only channels I can't see are from the Echostar 6,8. I had changed the Dish Swith SW21 for the 4X1 DisSEqC Switch (The switch that came with the Orasat) and made a Saltellite Scan for Echostar 6,8 but I still have the same problem: can't see any channels from Echostar 6,8. May be I need a better switch or I need to do an additional setup, I don't know. If some can tell me what I need to do or can give some recomendations I will really appreciated. Thanks!

Sat editor - It don't work - still don't have a right navigation that lets you get the download thing. Only way is to resize the screen. b91 ain't flying real good. looking forward to next bin.

put the mouse pointer to the top of blue band, when you a dual black arrows(not white single arrow), press down left mouse and hold on to it expanding or contracting the screen. patrick:beer:

if you start a new thread with a detail of you lnb and dish(is it dishnet legacy lnb? twin legacy, or 2 dishpro dual lnb, or dishpro twin lnb?), we will walk with you to get your 110 works in no time:p
