View Full Version : Watch where you are posting
chuck 01-10-2006, 04:05 PM The past couple of Months with all the new Members and the old Members making posts for the frist time the site has been a mess with people posting in the wrong places.
Before making a post check the brief description for each forum before you post.
The descriptions are very simple and easy to read.
There is no reason for anyone to post where they shouldnt.
I have been moving posts everyday and at this point I am very tired of spending my time putting your posts in the proper place.
Please pay attention before posting and post in the right place.
It would be too bad if I started neg repping those offenders because it would immediately put them in the dog house.
Dont let it be you that has posting privileges only in rants and blather because you didnt take a few seconds to see if you were going to ask your question where it belongs.
If you dont understand this then read these forum rules http://forums.dsstester.com/vbb/announcement.php?f=8&a=1 and then beware...we will have to build a bunch of new dog houses for all of you but if thats what it takes that is what we will do.
Please pay attention!!!!
crivas21 01-10-2006, 11:05 PM excellent advice chuck,just read before posting any questions.cheers from crivas21
rocketfuel 01-11-2006, 05:13 AM i have noticed a slight increase in questions and requests for information on sat programming north of the United States. I know the open discussion of B3V is frowned upon. Any thoughts?
Im Lost 01-11-2006, 05:48 PM ..
docdeath 01-11-2006, 10:43 PM I think that if it is a brand new person, one warning should be enough to remind them of the rules. Anyone who has been here a while should know better, and that there are other sites for that information.
If I reply at all to those posts, I just put "no bev - read rule 6."
I don't know, maybe that should be in big red letters at the top of each forum?
Are you on Ritalin?
If not, what medication ARE you on?
For someone who just joined last month, you sure do have a ton of WORTHLESS posts!
Also, for someone who "thinks" they have been here a while, well, YOU HAVEN'T!!!
YOU DON'T KNOW BETTER!
Are you trying to get into VIP by being a kiss-ass?
It won't work.
Try putting off the urge to post every 5 minutes and only submit posts that have value to other members, instead of simply agreeing with every post you read.
I'll bet you joined under several usernames just so you could give yourself rep points, didn't you?
Give it a rest, unless you have some real knowledge to share, shut the hell up!
chuck 01-12-2006, 02:36 AM Speaking of Ritalin Doc...maybe you should write yourself a scrip :D
docdeath 01-12-2006, 09:30 AM Sorry Chuck, when I saw the join date of this member and the huge number of posts, I thought this was just another overzealous newbie posting all over all the time.
My apologies to I'm Lost.
johnny dangerously 01-12-2006, 03:55 PM It's all good Doc. I flipped out pretty hard on a few newbies when the HU card died. I believe Chuck remembers!
chuck 01-12-2006, 03:57 PM I remember :D Its easy when we have lots of new members to get carried away...they post in the wrong place ...ask the same questions over and over instead of looking for the answer first....they double post......
I get pretty tired of cleaning up after them and at times I knid of flip out too ......

chuck 01-16-2006, 06:35 PM I am over all the double posting and posting in the wrong place...the double posting gets to me the most. I will start putting all the new double posters in the dog house for a day or two. Hope I remember to let them out when I think they have had enough :D
jabbathehut 01-16-2006, 07:31 PM I read and read the newbie questions that I no they can find within a simple search at the top of the page. A Deep breath is taken before I reply, But still they ask the same questions. This is a learning hobby. Not just easy TV and Bin begging....................................Jabba
the_original_modifier 01-17-2006, 05:05 PM Maybe a bigger search button is in order. Although I like the clean look, I did find it blended in when I first joined. Just a suggestion.

It's all good docs, thank you so much.
Good jobs buddy.
giver7 04-10-2008, 05:59 AM this is my effort to breathe life into an old post. Because we all need a little reminder sometimes.
1. remembered to be courteous ( "why can't we all just get along")
2. this is a learning site ( expect to do some reading, it's okay to ask questions. Treat it like a school, and don't pester the teachers)
3. remember everyone has a bad day ( by your words you will be justified, or condemned)
4. Remember to be thankful for what you have ( there are no guarantees, everything could literally end tomorrow.know I'm not saying it will, enjoy life. Don't take it for granted)
5. Remember to have fun (when a hobby stops being fun take a break)
giver7 08-27-2008, 05:12 PM something everyone might find useful especially if you're in a number. thought I would bump this thread up for another run.
I can't say this enough "remember to be thankful for what you have because tomorrow it might be gone"
